I’m so tired of articles shilling for these GaaS subs. I don’t want them. Don’t need them, don’t want to spend my hard earned money supporting them.
I'd say more like they have built their entire B- rated platform around GamePass. Can't blame people for taking advantage of the only thing worth buying an XBOX for, but GaaS has always been known to shape consequences in the industry. This is yet another.
"Live service obsession". What a bunch of BS hyperbole.
On point. Great post.
Considering Vita was around for 8+years and sold worldwide to get those numbers, and with Deck sitting at an estimated 4+ million sales after just over a year of Steam to customer (no retail presence) sales and despite initial production/demand constraints, I’d say Deck will very likely surpass Vita. Besides, I don’t know that an accessory device to a digital distribution platform is comparable to a dedicated handheld (platform locked software and all) from a premier console manufacturer. P...
For good reason. I love my Steam Deck so much. Best deal in gaming thanks to Steam Sales, and the fact these games can be played on any other PC, indefinitely, going forward.
What a waste. And despite all of this cut and slash, their polices are doubling down on what led to all of this. They have committed themselves to bring a losing brand going forward. Good riddance. Maybe Microsoft will buy them out, they seem to have a lot in common.
How is it false? The games from Acti/Blizz were all multi-platform. They would have lost nothing by leaving them independent - XBOX would already be getting the games. They bought them to lock down IP, release day-one titles on GamePass to push their DRM/GaaS mantra, and ultimately take away choice from other platforms to make their failing brand an option people have to consider if they want to play some of their favorite IP. Same happened with Bethesda. Starfield, anyone? Oh, wait, it...
This mod is a game changer. I have been playing all kinds of flat games in VR in my Steam library with the mod and having no issues. Even games with forthcoming "official" VR support like EA Sports WRC play excellent in VR with the mod. Very exciting stuff. My VR library just exploded.
Feeling the same here. The Deck OLED is a godsend for my gaming life. I've been enjoying more games, more of the time and feel like with the OLED I'm not compromising quality of experience on most of the titles I play. Absolutely love the experience and also love that Valve blasted the doors open for a competitive market in the handled PC space, all of the competitors are exciting and personally I love what Lenovo is doing in the space. I just hope they back it up with updates. H...
Man, I can’t wait for the new Jet Set Radio. Its looking amazing!
Imagine that, a game that’s not a “hardcore” FPS or sports title not selling well on XBOX.
This really sucks.
I still don’t want one.
Lame. Epic is so annoying.
It was pretty clear to me MS dumped a lot of $$$ into a presence there. GamePass ads every 30 minutes and the extra long presentation for Kojima, who really didn’t show anything substantive. They gotta pay their bills somehow.
“Players”. Even if they only played once and got bored, they’re being counted. Now, “concurrent” players is the number that matters.
Finally. I am so ready for this on PSVR2.
This is great news.
