Greatest console of all time.
People will disagree, but it turned around an impossible console battle, played PS1 games (and PS2, for a short while), and set up many of the great franchises we see today.
@Wooley, the Scorpio can super sample (automatically render to a larger res, and then downsample to 1080p), whereas the PS4 Pro cannot. So yes, every Scorpio game will look better, whereas the same is not true of the Pro.
It could be, if Sony put some effort in, as this only takes native rendering at like 1440p to do well... being the market leaders, they can give their users the middle digit on that one, though.
Stoked for Scorpio, personally. Then again, I didn't waste my money on the PS4 Pro half-upgrade, so I'm not upset to begin with.
I'll pick up a PS5, which will really just be a PS4 Pro Mk 2, in 2019-2020, instead. Of course, Sony will likely charge for PS4 BC...
Wow is this article dumb. Hardware improvements, on the same architecture, SAVE the company money, they don't cost. You can believe that AMD benefits from the Scorpio as much, or more, than MS, and they probably aren't charging a premium for the hardware, as it keeps their (GF) production lines full, and let's AMD and GF improve their process, and hence profit margins, on the Zen and Vega lines.
Marketing for the Scorpio may cost money, but MS will make it bac...
On Switch, exclusive, more likely. MH was always more popular as a portable franchise. There is no MH5, not yet.
Companies don't announce two editions of a game at the same time. It hurts the marketing for both.
A couple months? Show us a link, or you're just trolling with made up BS.
Netflix for games is amazing. It's like PS+ or GWG with a slowly rotating schedule of free games, and 150+ available at any one time (so far)
Anyone who dislikes it is a Sony shill. It's a good service, and WAY better than PS Now. Denying that it's a good idea is virtually the same as claiming "Netflix sucks".
Wii owners were notoriously frugal with their non-nintendo game purchases. Publishers were burned. They aren't going to just jump back in.
Bah, who wants this AAA crap? Aren't we all rich and played all these games already, years ago when we paid $60 for them on day one? We want cheap indie titles that didn't do well enough to justify earning real money, and thus have to rely upon a set one-time fee to scrape their way back from bankruptcy. Clearly the titles people actually want are just so-called niche titles that everyone *should* love, but didn't want to spend money on *specifically*, so lets get them to the p...
I agree with the sentiment of the article, but MS is in a very good position, if they ever do start to build a larger library of exclusives.
Frankly, crossplats are just plain going to be better on Scorpio. Development has always been easier on MS platforms as well, so Sony shouldn't be complacent. Lets not encourage them to be so -- they've been slipping.
I'd like to take this moment to mention that my new Ryzen 7 is awesome. Huge upgrade over my FX-8350 (obviously), but honestly, I don't know why I'd ever buy a chip that wastes space on an iGPU again.
PS Now is this. It just costs WAY too much.
I hope MS does a better job.
No, just no.
Did these article authors witness the rise and fall of the Wii, or do they just like to pretend that it didn't exist? The Switch's legs are just about worn out. By the holidays, the sales cliff the Switch is about to fall off of, will be obvious.
If Microsoft makes Havok licenses free, via making it part of DX, but charges on other platforms, you can believe some devs are going to favor MS over Sony. A LOT of devs, particularly indies.
Havok costs a buncha money, and everybody uses it, because it's just plain the best. Of course, it's really the support fees that get you, and they will still charge for that..
Damn, I knew I should have waited! There's a metal slime on it! Too amazing!
Do they have a Pro version? I will buy a Pro if it looks like that!
This article is BS. The SNES won, and was superior to, the Genesis, plain and simple. Add-on crap doesn't count. The PS3 outsold the 360, and demolished the Wii when it came to software sales, so I'd call that a win as well. And this generation? The PS4 is the clear leader, AND it's the most powerful default platform.
This article is clickbait. -- the "journalist" here is distorting facts to make it sound like the answer to his question is black an...
There is a significant push in the console game industry, right now, to hire female thinkers -- this is because the female demographics are still bound to the mobile space, which isn't all the $$ people once hoped it would be.
It's not "discrimination", per se. They are looking for people who think like female gamers think, for business reasons. If you don't have that skill, then your chances of being hired at many places is just plain lower, just li...
Wow. Is this really news? Studios move all the time...
Is N4G really into zoning and construction costs, these days? Is it because this is a Sony first party studio that their moving is "big news"? Because we all live in Bend, Oregon, and are going to really notice, right?
How about some news about their game?
Like last gen, Microsoft will now win every crossplat game comparison, and Sony will still have the most exclusives, which look great purely by nature of focused development. Microsoft's exclusives almost can't avoid looking great, on Scorpio, but having enough compelling ones is always the real challenge.
I actually prefer MS to Sony, when it comes to satisfaction with getting what I pay for (Crossplat features with PC/Win10, BC with 360, online service in general...
To back up what kalkano says, specifically, it's a musao game -- i.e it's like Dynasty Warriors, and not like Valkyria Chronicles, which is a SRPG.
...the folks who play one often don't like the other, so it's kind of lame to confuse them.
