A console launching within the next couple years, and being more powerful than the Xbox One X would be stupidly expensive -- meaning it would fail. Just because something *can* be built, doesn't mean it's smart to do so.

Sony and MS aren't that dumb. It'll be a good 3 years before either Sony or MS provide a console bigger and meaner than the Xbox One X, by nature of the cost-of-goods to manufacture a better beast, at a price people can afford. You can...

"How $1000 still beats $500"

This guy is really pushing the limits of imagination here.

This is the Bedrock engine -- not mods. Not sure how people can confuse the two, since Java has NEVER run on console.

That means that the PS4 Pro Minecraft won't get these upgrades, as they are tied to the same engine as crossplay.

I'll buy one. Don't need one. Don't need any console.

I'll buy one. I don't understand why that's so hard to understand for some people.

Any game that is cross-platform with PC will have built-in upgradable options. All they need to do is tune up the settings for Xbox One X to match that of a "high"-end (not ultra) PC, rather than a "middle" powered one, like the Xbox One S.

The Sony versions don't share so much code with the PC (DirectX, Windows), so they won't be as quick to tune the PS4 Pro version, but it should be decently fast, nonetheless. Like "2 days" rather t...

ODST was decent, but Reach was... not very good. I am glad Bungie didn't make any more. They just had run outta steam.

I'm actually enjoying 343's take on the series, with 4 & 5, more than I ever did with 2 & 3. 1 is hard to compare to, since it was a real standout, at the time.

Lol, the GAMES don't support widescreen, bud. Neither do PS1 classics, and a lot of PS2 classics on PS Now.

Widescreen TVs were few and far between back then, so games didn't support it, for the most part. You could always play the game on a widescreen -- it just stretches (or has black sidebars, if you have a decent TV). No different than PS Now, for games from the same era, or Nintendo BC for older games, etc.

And this is news how? Neither of these things... were a thing, back then. Widescreen was rare, and Achievements debuted with the Xbox 360.

Do people think the dev and publishers dusted off 15 year-old source code and rebuilt them for the Xbox One or something? Get real!

The trouble is that there's a lot of text, and text gets crummy when it's distorted by the barrel distortion needed for lens correction. The distortion amplifies the resolution difference. The Rift and Vive are 1080x1200 per eye, compared to the PSVR's 960x1080 -- it makes a pretty big difference, for fine details, like text.

If I didn't care about having the experience early, I would have definitely waited for the 1440x1440 per eye headsets coming later t...

Sony needs to sell their headset to the PC market. It's the most comfortable, and the cheapest, despite being slightly lower resolution -- Sony needs to jump on those PC gamers before Acer and HP ship out their new Windows headsets for $300.

Their walled garden is the problem. For this piece of hardware (PS VR), they should make money like Sony used to make money -- by selling good hardware to as many people as possible. Two-way exclusivity with the PS4 is dumb for t...

Link-cable tells it like it is!

Seriously though, I have never heard of this website? Are articles like this taken seriously?

It takes a certain grade of authenticity to write "So will Days Gone be any good? Honestly, no one knows." (quoted from the article), and basically acknowledge that your own article title is BS.

Here's what's super cool about having a powerful console -- you can add some features to it that you just cannot rely upon in the PC space. Most of the people who play games on earth play on stupid Ultrabooks, with integrated GPUs.

That's the real reason console games can compete with PC -- the minimum bar is higher. Now there are two bars, and the XB1X bar is decently high, despite not being as good as the top few % of gaming PCs built in the past couple year...

Really glad I didn't buy Until Dawn on a whim, now. I doubt I would have felt it was money well-spent. I'll try it for free, though.

They wouldn't know that the Xbox One X is "awesome", unless they actually had a dev kit. Why would they have a dev kit? Hmm...

It's phenominal if you can get into being a space trader/bounty hunter/pirate, etc. It's awesome in VR.

PSVR is the lowest rez of the big player headsets, and even the PS4 Pro is below the Rift min spec PC.

I can tell you, from many, many hours of playing Elite in VR, on my Rift, that the HUD text is the worst part (it is painfully hard to read -- you get used to it, but you don't enjoy it), and the lower rez of the PSVR headset would make it worse. I completely understand why they refuse to do it on the PS4, and I think even the PS4 Pro.

Wait, wait.. the market leader is being "held back" by the competition, which it enjoys a 2-1 marketshare lead over, at least?

That makes no sense. I call BS on this article.

Why would they sell new hardware, potentially losing their grip, when they already own the market?
