I bet a lot more do than you believe, given that literally 105 million other devices have Minecraft on them, and cross-play seems to be pretty important for those users. You know Android and Apple phones/tablets/TVs can play with the Switch, PC, and Xbox One, as well, right?
"Makes you really wonder, where was this level of outrage, concern, and disgust when Sony made this proposal before and was shot down?"
Where is this fake news? I want to read it.
Sony is stemming progress that other companies, like Google, Apple & Nintendo are going forward with. That's the source of the complaint. Think of it this way -- Lets say Apple still owned the cell market, at about 70% marketshare. if you owned an Apple phone, you might be upset that the Apple version of a game costs more, and can't play with your friends, who own Android devices (because they aren't as rich as you)? Would you defend Apple, when they argued that lowering t...

Where is this true? In Beverly hills? Manhattan? Where you can always throw another $300 out the window, and pay $60 extra per year, to boot? This has nothing to do with MS, and everything to do with Sony.
You realize that Google (Android phones), Apple (apple phones and TV), Nintendo, and MS are all doing c...
You don't read much, eh? That's why people are angry -- MS and Nintendo *are* doing cross-play together, willingly. Sony is not participating, by their own choice.
You can't log into Xbox Live on a PS system, right now. That seems to be the requirement for cross-play. It's not really any different than logging into UPlay, or any other online service, so it doesn't seem like a big deal, to me, since having an Xbox Live account is free, is useful on PCs, and doesn't magically make you buy an Xbox.
Some people (not me) *really* loved the Duke. If you have big hands, Sony's controllers have always been pretty crippling, and the modern Xbox One controller, like the Xbox "S" controller it's based on (and then the 360 controller was based on the "S") is kind of an inbetween.
It's cool that MS is bringing it back, for people who loved it. It'll sell big in the US, and in northern Europe. It won't sell well in southern Europe or mu...
Obviously Sony is holding out. Every other platform has clearly agreed to do cross-platform play -- it's obviously not Microsoft holding the PS4 version up.
It's not an amazing price, but it is fair. I will get one, on day one.
You're paying for the best software experience on console, bar none. Just about every major title will support 4K, for the sake of both XB1X and PS4Pro -- you're kidding yourself if you think that games that tend to also show on PC won't easily support higher resolutions for more powerful consoles.
Sony has no reason to drop the PS4 Pro price. They won't. They aren't playing console wars to lose money.
Price is fine. You get what you pay for.
Wow. You weren't paying attention, if Metro and Cuphead were all you noted.
What a dumb question? The point is to make a 4K capable console for people who want one?
Honestly, $499 is a perfectly fine price, as well. I will buy one, and then I'll have the best crossplat gaming, plain and simple. Nothing wrong with that. If you want something less impressive, spend less money on a PS4 Pro (near 4K gaming), Xbox One S (4K movies and streaming with decent 2K gaming), or PS4 (great 2K gaming), depending on the features and price you're looki...

Where are the PS Now! numbers, Jim Ryan? Why haven't you shut that lame biz down yet, if its making so little money?
Who gives a carp what would be happening if it was "the other way around"? It's not. Is that some sort of excuse for being knuckleheaded?
Sony can't add PS3 BC to the PS4, they can only add PS1 and PS2 (and PSP, probably, which would be AMAZING).
That said, they won't. They would rather milk the PS Now! cow, and pretend BC isn't important. Where are the PS Now! numbers, Jim Ryan? Why are you running that business, if so few ga...

Wow. Bad science much?
This data was taken from the holidays -- i.e. the time when people buy the most new games.
This seems like a much more accurate comparison than the GTX 1050 Ti and FX-4350 rig some journalist dreamed was the equivalent, yesterday.
