I would hardly call subscription services, exciting times for gamers. Subscription services means game quality will drop significantly. There is a reason a lot of games on Gamepass are either old quality games or just low quality. In order for subscription services to be affordable, game quality/cost goes down.
IF this is where Sony is leaning towards, say good bye to the high quality playstation exclusives we all love.
Doubtful
It's a CO-OP Shooter. CO-OP Shooters, by design, are generic, repetitive garbage with no quality substance.
The PS1 emulators you can get are far superior on PC. Not to mention they make the games look better.
Dead Space is hardly a remake compared to RE4
Lets compare Dead Space to the original and whats been improved:
1 - Graphics
2- Minor quality of life improvements
RE4 Remake and compare to the original
1 - Far improved graphics from the original, more so then the Dead Remake compared to the original
2 - Massively improved controls, quality of life and gameplay mechanics
3 - New content
Big difference...
If developers don’t bother to optimise their 3rd Party games for a much lower install base/sales, the difference in GPU means nothing. We are already seeing it now. Why put more/same amount of effort for a lower install base & sales?
Fuse mechanic looks nice, but the game is definitely an expansion rather then a full new game. Same Map (outside of the floating islands) ? Wow, no effort put into creating a whole new open world.
The graphics look worse then GTA V on PS3/360.
May have to wait until this becomes available for emulation on PC. There is no excuse for these graphics or frame rates in 2023. Get better hardware Nintendo.
You know which such low sales on XBox, 3rd Party Publishers deciding to skip releasing on XBox is not that far fetched. Why bother putting work into a platform no one is buying?
I have to agree.
In fact, as it stands now, competition is endangered as Microsoft cannot compete with Playstation. Microsoft acquiring Activision would make it more competitive.
How many of those were casual gamers and not core?
Not sure why keyboard + mouse issues are an issue, as you should be playing this with a controller anyway...
Not surprising as most of the work was already done.
Same story, Same level design, Same monsters. Just improved graphics, quality of life improvements. Jus like a remaster, oh no wait, this is a "remake"
As great as the game is, the game is not even close as the benchmark of Remakes.
That easily goes to FF7 and Resident Evil 2. Both of these games are completely different to the originals: graphics, sound, voice acting, gameplay, gameplay mechanics. Can't say the same for 99.9% of 'remakes'
What competition is Nintendo facing exactly? They are the only console that caters to a casual audience. Not to mention the only handheld one, catering to those that want to play on the go Hardly any competition at all.
Not surprised at all it has the sales it has.
I can sort of see where Sonic1881 is coming from. Even though the new Dead Space ‘remake’ has new graphics, textures & sound, its still using the exact same voice acting, story, level design (correct me if I am wrong), so its not a “full new game”, much like Demon Souls wasent. That had exact same levels etc. Games like these, including TLOU ‘Remake’ are not full blown remakes.
Proper examples of what remakes are, are fames like Resident Evil 2 remake & FF7 Remake.
...
Sony have been arrogant this generation due to dominating:
- Increased the price of games
- Barely any TRUE 1st Party Next Gen games
Its time Sony becomes more competitive. If this acquisition starts motivating Sony in being more competitive, then I’m all for it.
No big deal.
Higher asking price means the quality needs to be even better, otherwise it's just going to get torrent'ed..Simple really.
Its fine when content is developed AFTER release of the game, but when content, in the case of Callisto Protocol, where death animations were made DURING the development of the game but were deliberately excluded to add as DLC later, is no excuses for that
Children.. simple
And you wonder why the quality in the game isn’t there? Children. When you cater to children, you can get away with low quality, as generally, children are easier to satisfy when it comes to what is fun for them. Their standards, by nature, are much lower
Talent has nothing to do with COD. Its not like COD is made by talented developers. As far as quality, COD is average at best, Sadly, COD attracts the certain type of gamer (particularly the casuals), which is why its so big & successful, not because of quality. It's the perfect casual game. Sit down at anytime and enjoy some "quality' mulitplayet" rather then enjoying something that has quality and substance a.k.a. Sonys 1st Party games.
One of Forbidden Wests strength was that it added more depth to the combat. Going back to basics would be going backwards.
What needs to improve is removing the Ubisoft open world content, such as repetitive bandit camps etc and add more 'meaty', unique and more variety in it's open world content.
