"So you're saying he should not be tweeting whenever he feels like it?"
Yes.
He should let the console and the games and his actions speak for themselves.
Well while I wholly agree that releasing sooner and having a far cheaper to manufacture console allowing them to have reaped the high return on early adopters and then price the Pro extremely competitively when XBone the Deuce finally releases isn't there strongest asset. Sony's strongest asset is it's game line-up and international support.
Well if he didn't tweet and run off at the mouth every day then there wouldn't be an article about it.
Sony executives don't behave like he does and they are more than doubling his sales, maybe he should take a hint.
Maybe it's actually not good publicity or sincere humility.
@moldybread
Are you kidding this is the guy that green-lit the "best selling console after they won 3 months in one region when in reality they lost 100% of all months globally. This is the guy who literally days after PSVR was released called all the games demos. This is the guy who said Zelda and Horizon weren't relevant.
These are just a few of the things off the top of my head if I had the time and the desire to search google I could find co...
I highly doubt much will change, unless Nintendo and Sony decide not to show up.
And what was the lesson Phil learned. "Who cares if the game is good (halo 5 is the lowest rated halo) just shove a bunch of crappy micro-transactions in it and it'll still make a profit."
Every time Microsoft "innovates" gaming gets worse.
@opinionated
I just want to point out that I said something very level headed that only implied (at most) that I was pro-consumer and you jumped all the way to the totally irrational statement that I somehow want everything for free. That is in no way what I said nor have I ever said anything like that ever, here or anywhere.
There is a difference between freedom of speech and fast lane/slow lane internet.
This doesn't have to do with left or right. It's consumer vs cooperation.
Why don't you get educated instead of just saying or person x said it so it must be wrong.
Actually Net Neutrality supporters have been trying to fight things like data caps since the 90's why don't you do some actual research. The problem is the ISP have spent huge amount of money lobbying and taking the FCC to court to dismantle net neutrality.
If net neutrality had won the many legal cases in the past data caps for residential service would be illegal.
Yea, she really is a fun character.
It doesn't have as much to do with money as it has to do with software sales. The third parties are signing deals with Sony because Sony can guarantee them more sales.
Ya know, the real reason Sony gets all the marketing deals is because they can assure the game companies double the sales compared to the competition.
Basically every third party game this gen has sold twice as many units on PS4 and PS4 has sold more than three times as much software total this gen. It only makes sense that these companies would choose to partner with them.
You know Xbox since launch has lost 100% of the months globally and has been outsold more than 2:1 since launch and regularly gets outsold 3:1. And PS4 has sold greater than three times more software since launch.
Surface does OK at best relative to the market. More tablets by far are sold using Android and IOS. And laptops outsell Surface as well by far.
Bing... you ever heard of Google? And any gain Bing has had is only because they shoved it into Windows and removed the option to use anything else. No one actually sets Bing to default in their web browser,
Windows only does well because they basically have a monopoly, it's like saying water it popular.
...
Hey, I just have three things to say.
First: Most of my comments have more agrees than disagree while most of your comments have more disagrees than agrees.
Second: Even when I disagree with you I don't say things to you like this "As I said before, do you ever say anything of any relevance?"
Third: I'm not going to stop voicing my opinion just because you don't like it.
Better question. Does N4G need to have four Microsoft is needed articles at the same time?
Geez these Microsoft fans are getting really insecure.
It's Phil's own words, and that's only one element of what I said. Even if you subtract the paywalls statement Microsoft still has micro-transactions in Halo, Gears, Forza, and even the 15-year-old Phantom Dust re-release has them. And on top of that, there is an obvious lack of investment in game creation especially story driven single-player narrative games.
And I generally just feel like Microsoft have very little interest in gaming outside of gaining contro...
I agree it hasn't been a blow for Sony they continued to sell 2 to 3 times and more consoles and software than Microsoft globally. If anything Scorpio was a blow to XBone which has seen it's sales slow steadily since they announced the console.
