Its not the matter of supporting 60FPS...
FPS is a measurement unit which tells how fast the hardware can perform/render one imnage under the specific load.
Sorry had to pick on this detail, it kinda pisses me off when I see articles/titles which treat framerate in games as a feature.
wtf, killing floor 2 ?
Well Im pumpped but this came around the bushes.
Whoa, lets wait that the PS4 is even going to hit that target 400€ here, currently lowest price I have seen was 444€
I seriously dont want to pay +100€ more than what it costs in the states.
Completely agreeing with this man ! There are toi many comments that take the 4k res as a screen resolution and dont realize its actually the texture resolution.
If numbers impress, look up "IDtech 5 megatextures"
Looks good but nothing ground breaking.
I dont have too much experience with the older nintendo racers/games but I believe Mario Kart double dash (gamecube one ?) ran at smoothnes similar to 60 FPS in single player but Im not sure about splitscreen. I remember it being pretty smooth too.
Games in general have always ran at lower framerates when playing in Splitscreen. Hell Starwars Battlefront II on PS2 ran always sub 30 FPS and in Splitscreen it was borderline playable 10-20 FPS but it was fun as hell and could be...
Im just 20 but Im feeling somewhat "old" (I know... 20 is nothing) but for different reasons.
Just 4-2 years ago I played FPS games from the bottom of my heart, winning. Now I dont feel motivated to play any FPS game semi competitivly and even if I step in on some of my favourites, I get my ass kicked.
Instead, Im playing the shit out of my old PS1/2 games on the original machines or emulators, even buying some "new" used PS1/2 games.
I also wonder if this/PEGI is one of the reasons games get released later in EU ?
DOOM and Quake started the online (and PC) FPS revolution, Goldeneye is one of the base foundations of console FPS shooters today as a genre.
I DON'T think that we should quickly kill off the 7th gen consoles. Less than 10% of the 7th gen players own a current gen console so forcing so many peoples to get on PS4/XB1 this fast would be wrong.
I will admit 7th gen lasted a bit too long. For example it took 6 years to release PS3 but PS2 still was supported pretty decently into 2009, 3 years after PS3s release. 7th gen alone lasted about 8 years.
If the game already has a working port for PS3/XB36...
Its piracy as long as you download the games illegaly.
Very old console games like NES games are "abandonware" or whatever its called which is a "grey" area for downloading games.
I believe PS1 and up is still definitly illegal territory though. Nintendo and Sony still make money when they re-release "classic" titles in their online stores.
Emulation in itself (especially PS1, PS2 and Wii) isnt illegal though. Es...
(Although Im not an Xbox One fan) I still believe DX12 will help XB1.
I cant say for sure or find "confirmations" for my information, but I heard XB1 uses the exact same DX11.1/11.2 API as PCs meaning no low-level HW access.
Now with DX12 that will be possible.
Though PS4 already has two APIs, one basic comparable to DX11, one customized low-level API so this wont magically "fix" XB1 when it comes to game performance.
Im warmly surprised to see people with some sense here in the fanboy pit that is known as n4g.
An entertainment/videogame/techno lgy company like EA or MS cant do enough bad decisions to be voted as the "worst company in america". I dont live in the US so I dont know about stuff about "Bank of America" or other big corporations that people have mentioned but Im sure their fuckups have more weight on peoples lifes than EAs or Microsofts.
I read the headline wrong lol.
I read it as "the hardware performance of Xbo peaks at 96% when launching titanfall"
I cant be the only one ? What a silly mistake.
To me its (mostly) the opposite. I have always played Budokai 3/Infinite world by button smashing because the combos feel so indifferent.
Excluding the first tenkaichi, BT is a great series with easy and yet quite deep combat system. Square for basic combat, triangle for specials (during the combat) and directional buttons for direction/type of the attack.
In tenkaichi the characters also have unique anination and combo sets for each form to give nice variati...
They are even that high ? I dont remember where and when I last time read about WiiU sales but they were in 20k-30k range but the article is talking about 25% increase.
Well Im glad its selling even as well as it does now. 80k isnt that bad as far as I know.
They did this with Far Cry 3, now Watch Dogs and will probably carry on with The Division.
They like to demo their games with ridiculous graphical fidelity and then downgrade them to hell and back. Far Cry 3 experienced mostly downgrading with very little upgrading (character models got better along with some of the animations, just like what seem to have happened with Watch Dogs)
This shouldnt come as a shock to anyone after the whole Far Cry 3 alpha VS retail debacle.

I get what the article is saying.
The unified architecture helps to speed up the CPU and GPU work because their memory is in the same workplace but since Yebis is purely GPU based it doesnt benefit from it at all.
