Fired up the PS3 played 32 player, zero lag, dedicated server SOCOM 4 all morning. Reputation is back in place after playing laggy 360 games for the last couple of weeks (Gears 3 when not dedicated, Brink). SOCOM is so nice and sweet.
I'm in a clan with over 300 PS3 users - not one has switched. Although some (like myself) that own the 360 and the PS3 have been putting more time in on the 360 during this down time....but once the PSN is backup we'll be back on the PS3.
Really enjoying the game so far. The hit detection is not a problem - it's as advertised if you watched any of the the pre-game information. You aren't going to be able to 1 shot people (even sniping), and it will take team work to take down enemies. I'm not saying I agree with the mechanic but I think it is working as intended.
The lag sucks - but I'm hopeful for a patch (I think the PC doesn't have the lag issues? is what I heard...).

Most anticipated game of the year for me. I'm glad the 360 people will get to experience this game also - everyone should have a run at this kind of greatness. Demon's Souls is my favorite game of this generation (as others have said also).

I took a dump this morning that was superior to COD.
This beta is pretty good! Has a couple of tweaks needed (and as you can see Epic is already addressing some spawn issues etc.) but overall - a really solid well balanced beta. I'm impressed.
Isn't it more like a restaurant full of people eating for free and then one person doesn't like it so the restaurant gives everyone a free desert on top of the free meal they've been enjoying?
The camera distance is fine (some of the camera issues when in bushes or corners are less than fine). The only people who want the camera back even further are the people who corner camp like a champ.
I think most of the internet blogosphere are the ones in the dark. Who don't understand network security protocol and don't really know what actions Sony took and in what time frames in regards to this issue. You don't just tell 77 Million people (accounts) that their information may have been compromised without being very certain - which is why the network was shutdown and a security audit from an external company was performed.

they have addressed this for the final release already - they talked about it on the last zipline podcast.
The game is really good so far. A couple of minor issues in the beta - nothing game breaking. But overall a really solid title already. Looking forward to April 19th.
Just fix the match making would be enough to make me happy. I love U2 MP but the match making is busted.
