It's a start.
While this specific device won't really do "much", it could be a "trend" (tactile mobile gaming for iOS/Android) to make the VITA less relevant specially with its pace.
Emulators are doing good and the PPSSPP is getting better on Android.
Doom 3 on the VITA would be faptastic. :P
That was more based on battery limits unlike electronics design to run from the wall socket.
"they don't actually own one which is even worse."
That's the problem. Luring consumers into getting one. (fact: Sony admits its low adoption rate)
" Oh I hate ports. Then let me ask anyone on N4G what are the main Vita games people ask for... Freaking PS3 games."
They're not asking for "B-Class" ports with questionable polish and side-grade features.
Get back again once VITA gets ful...
What's concerning is Remote Play performance.
Where the hell is a public/stage demo for it (none at E3)?
Probably a half ass feature if they don't do a major presentation of it in GC and/or TGS.
PSV is down 33% YOY

CODBOD and AC3L (big exclusive games) bundle replaced by GoW and TWD bundles (ports and indies).
It's NOT doing better.
Hell NO.. at least in the US.
Dem HALOs and family dancing!
"Another great thing to consider as well, we are only a few years into the PS Vita lifecycle. Imagine what will be possible in another two years in terms of graphics"
In terms of PURE graphics barring art style, "flagship" mobile games will look better 2 years from now.

Sony NEEDS to prove GAMEPLAY WORTH PREMIUM, specially ...
This is true.
It's mostly about the games. It needs more exclusive and compelling software.
Those games are typically expensive and long to develop compared to most mobile games (including 3DS).
Since there's not much system sellers, a price cut could do some work but that's only a temporary fix as proven in Japan.
Always on.
In low power state.
Always watching.
Always listening.
Every gov't will love it!
AFAIK, it's because a lot of consoles are banned in China.
The ban is being reconsidered btw, surely there will be a large enough market there for profit once it's lifted.
Meh.
I know college people who could care less about the PS4 but get boners with HALO and COD.
They're used to getting boned with XBL too.
Man, I really hope they make the framerates with less hiccups.
That's probably a huge factor for "face value".
Best if they can polish up both the framerate and AI.
Took me 3 days to get used to PJD f's style of floating prompts unlike DDR, GH and most DJM games.
After what Sony did to the VITA @ E3, I expect nothing great from them anytime soon.
Right now, maybe a Minecraft VITA at best.
Hope they make the AI more aggressive on Veteran difficulty and up and fix the frame rates.
Really loved Crysis 1.
You have no idea how many hours I enjoyed just dicking with the North Koreans on the 1st level.
I just loved grabbing them and staring at their constipated facial reactions. I also found it hilarious when they try to sniff me out and then I de-cloak, go maximum strength, punch their faces and watch them fly a few meters!
Pretty fucking novel when I played it several years ago.
I didn't feel as good ...
I hope it's not cheap iOS/Android game nor a PSP/3DS B-tier animu cash grab game.
Then again, is it even realistic to expect PV and qualities of games like MH, SS, etc.?
I seriously hope that the upcoming GoW VITA ports are not close to these piss poor quality ports specially that Ratchet and Clunk VITA.
Like the article mentioned, definitely a win for MS in the US. If not early on, in the longer run.
Better casual camera games, TV, a flavor of patriotism and HALO.
