Nintendo is the same Nintendo as when the market was for kids. They dominated back then in the conditions of that market. Today's market is different. Video games are mainstream and mostly for a mature audience. Nintendo cannot dominate again in today's market using the same focus they used when the market was for kids.
That is why they are irrelevant in today's console market.
What made Nintendo great in the first place was the conditions of the market back them. There were no consoles for a mature audience. Video games were mostly for kids and they dominated in that market. Then Sony came and elevated console gaming to new heights and for a mature audience. Today's market is different. If Nintendo wants to succed, they have to change. They cannot keep doing the same thing over and over.
I doubt the NX will release this year. Maybe summer 2017. Anyway I don't think Nintendo will surprise anyone. They will come with the same strategy of an inferior hardware with some kind of gimmick and praying to God for a miracle to happen. Is not going to work.
Why would anyone do this? The DualShock 4 is far superior in every way. Crazy.
I just want to know PSVR price and the launch games line up.
Feudal Japan + Bloodborne + Onimusha = Day 1 for me.
So many amazing exclusives coming to PS4 in 2016.
The PS4 is more powerful and that is not going to change.
I stopped playing when the second raid arrived. I played the first raid like 50 times and never got good armor while all my friends got new armor. I played a lot in Iron Banner in order to get the cool items when the second Iron Banner came, they deleted all previous progress. I was tired of playing the same levels over and over and over.
I realized the game was just about upgrading armor and weapons and had no soul.
While I don't doubt Oculus and Vive are very good products, I am pretty sure PSVR will dominate the mainstream market as is going to be more affordable, easy to play, plug and play and will have a bigger user base.
Actually, PS4 beated the "best game line up in xbox history" last holidays and to make things worse, PS4 won without any exclusive.
What a spin my God. To think there are people who actually fall for that. They may also add that the xbox is the best selling console through 8am to 12pm on weekends when is raining. Tomb Raider did not even charted on NPD and PlayStation won the holidays even when Xbox had "the best game line up in xbox history".
No surprises here. Is already clear that PS4 is more powerful than the x1. We all knew of this even before the consoles were released.
This one is on my radar. Looks very interesting. I am glad than indi games are becoming so good. The Witness is amazing and now this one is coming soon.
PS4 is very lucky to have them both as console exclusives.
Well, Mortal Kombat and KI doesn’t have a worldwide championship event as big as Street Fighter. That along tells you a lot. Street Fighter is the father of all fighting games so the question here is not who is "better" because that's a matter of opinion but who is bigger? And street fighter is way bigger than any other fighting game out there.
Side note: Yesterday there was an article talking about how ignored Killer instinct has been and today they ask here ...
PSVR is the only one with the potential to make VR mainstream and that is a fact. Oculus and Vive are good products but their prices and the PC specs needed make those products very out of reach for mainstream.
If Sony can price PSVR between $249 and $349, that is going to make VR more attractive for mainstream success plus there are many games already announced that looks very good plus there are more than 100 games in development for PSVR as said by Sony.
Sounds like NX is not coming this year.
Here comes the "greatest games lineup in xbox history" again. If their holiday 2015 lineup failed miserably against the competition, 2016 lineup is going to be worst.
So this leaves xbox being the only one without a proper VR approach. I believe their problem is that the xbox One cannot handle VR. Maybe for the next xbox.
This game was today at $9 on the windows store. I am not paying $60 for this on PS4. I will only buy at 39.00 1080p 60fps, all the DLC and new exclusive content for PS4.
BC is good for the first 4 to 5 months of a new console and even for that is not a selling point for me.
Microsoft sells you BC as the ultimate feature ever! Of course, they have to because their console is loosing the console war miserably and they need to sell you any dream in the cloud. But back to reality, BC has never been a selling point for any console in history.
