I still remember how they said they had the "best games line up in history" for the holidays and how that also failed.

Because they are miserably loosing. Why try to spin it? Be honest. Even Nintendo gives their numbers when they are in a bad situation.
Anyone here knows that if the xbox was enjoying the amazing success and total domination of the console market as the PS4, they would be bragging about it every day with all their hearts.
I remember the Dream cast when it was launched. I wanted one but I had no trust in Sega. At least I am glad that Sega is still around making software.
If MS also fail with its second shot at PC and now the news that they may add add on hardware for the xbox One, as Sega did, I see them going exactly the Sega route.
Nintendo should use this opportunity to release a killer console and at least get the second position in the market.
Now that the xbox has failed miserably to win on the console market, MS must try somehow to gain loss territory by trying to appeal to the PC market, a market that they already failed miserably too with games for Windows. If this strategy also fail, I see MS going like SEGA, leaving hardware and focusing on software.
The JRPG are back this gen thanks to PS4.
Wow so many good exclusives coming to PS4 and we are not even counting PSVR exclusives. Is going to be an amazing year.
Looks like you are not aware that PlayStation is reigning supreme like if there are no competition at all. You cannot ignore reality and try to make one of your own kid.

The space needed for this to properly work is even bigger than kinects and that is not good. Looking at my living room is not what I would call immersive and that is one of the reasons VR is more interesting for me.
When I see companies like Facebook, Google, Samsung, HTC, recognized developers working on software and the industry working on AR content as with what is exactly happening right now with VR, then I may pay attention to this.
So... A bigger space is required than that required by kinect. I though kinect make very clear the fact that a very few people have that kind of space available in their homes. Well, there is a reason the whole industry is moving to VR and not AR.
Good luck with that. There is simply no appeal right now for AR as for VR. Almost all the big companies and developers are currently full throttle preparing and developing for VR although I believe Hololens could be a good tech for other non gaming stuff.
So we are hoping for a lucky shot then.
It could be more of a threat to the Xbox one than to the PS4 but I doubt Nintendo will release a proper console that matches current console features and power. They have to maintain their kids market.
I don't have a Wii U so for me to buy it on NX it has to be a Zelda that is not for kids (adult Link). The NX has to be a proper console with equal power to the PS4 or more.
If not, I will pass just as I did with the Wii U.
I remember I was a true loyal and Nintendo only fan back then. I remember that there were no games coming to the N64 and one day I decided to buy a PlayStation as a secondary console in order to have fun while the games come to N64. Story short, PlayStation converted me and became my #1 platform as of this day. Nintendo, while I respect them, are irrelevant right now. If it wasn't for Sony, I would have ended being a gamer back then.
Almost the whole industry is moving and preparing for VR. There is really big support out there for VR. Why would a developer pay 3,000 for Hololens when no one is going or supporting that AR route?

Two years later the PS4 is dominating the whole console market worldwide. The sales gap keep rising, it has a lot of exclusive marketing deals. Many developers are opting to release their games on PS4 /PC combo. It has many good exclusives and a lot others are coming. Two years later and PS4 may become the leader of mainstream VR gaming.
Hololens require even greater space than kinect to work properly. I believe this tech can be good for other stuff but not for mainstream gaming.
If the PS4 version is not 1080p, 60fp, includes all DLC and new exclusives content for PS4 and less than 39.00 then I will pass.
I have been playing a lot of good games. Passing on this one will not hurt.
