KZ1 and KZ2 were great games, but I'm not so sure the series deserves a place on the top 50 series of all time list just yet.

And Halo #1? Mario #6? Lol.

7 is an okay score. I dunno why people complain about it.

Not stellar and new, but if its more giant boss battles, I'm all over it.

If it's true that Natal is being kept secret for E3, does that mean its the primary focus of their E3 presentation again?

There must be some stellar Natal games announcements coming, if that's the case...

That, or just like most folks are saying, they're keeping it under wraps because its just not ready for the public eye.

The limited areas, and stuff to do, for someone who doesn't belong to a large corp, in EVE, makes it kinda un-fun for me.

The player pirates are totally brutal in that game. It's like being killed by spawn campers in CoD who have 10x the regular hitpoints, and weapons which do 5x normal damage, and when they kill you, you lose your last month of weapon unlocks.

In other words... the interesting areas in the game are off limits, unless you belong to a large corp cong...

@Megaman42xX:

I was just having a little fun at the article author's expense, bro. Don't take it personally. The truth is that most of his points are even less valid than the joke points I posted, which is really, really sad.

(1) He got the BC issue wrong (he thinks PS1 BC is not present, which it is).
(2) He thinks PSN is inferior in some way to XBL, outside of cross-game chat.
(3) He thinks Sony's efforts against piracy somehow affect him, as a gamer -- assuming he's not a pirate, yet he fails to mention that ~2 GB of, already limited, X360 DVD-9s are devoted to copy protection which doesn't even work.
(4) He thinks he can't log into PSN, with a browser, and check out his trophies, etc. Wow on...

I love the part in the article where he goes on about the PS3 not having BC... and then quotes a bunch of PS1 games as an example.

All PS3s can play all PS1 games, bud. Its only PS2 BC they lost.

Here's MY reasons for not purchasing a PS3:

(1) I dislike games, particularly games that approach "art". Viva la Ebert!
(2) I dislike high rez movies. They often cost more, and for me, entertainment is best when its as low budget as possible. VHS + mono sound ftw.
(3) I own a XBox 360. I love Halo. I dream about ringworlds that are actually super duper weapons, and aliens that are religious freaks, and funky parasite aliens, and there's just not any roo...

Since games like HS and Lair were released, the main memory available to devs on the PS3 has increased by over 10% (~30GB), and knowledge of how to effectively utilize the SPUs has skyrocketed, for everything from animation, to shadows, to MLAA.

I'll bet HS2 would be downright amazing, if it ever came to pass.

Did Pachter make an exception for games tailored to the Japanese HD audience?

If not, he should. Plenty of 3rd parties will create games for the Japanese market, some of which will be good enough to export, and they'll create them on the Wii or PS3 only... simply because the X360 is unpopular enough in Japan that it doesn't warrant additional expense to make a X360 version of games tailored to sell best in Japan.

Good examples? If Monster Hunter ever goes HD, there...

The survey's target audience is, frankly, skewed toward the headline in such a manner as to make the survey worthless and not newsworthy.

I still find the "3% won it in a contest" statistic to be questionable, even given the survey demographic.

5747d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

The article actually argues that the second-hand "category" of "how did you obtain your PS3" is the largest, which doesn't actually equate with "most PS3 owners", which indicates a majority (> 50%).

Also, they claim that 3% of PS3 owners "won" it in a contest (this would be about 100,000 people in the UK, where the survey is from, and over a million worldwide), and something like 24% got it for "free" as a part of another purch...

Most PS3s being bought second-hand would require that most original PS3 owners trade in their console to begin with.

I have to call BS on "most PS3s bought used". People don't throw away money like that -- buying a PS3 on what, a whim? and then trading it in after "driving it off the lot"? If that was the case, the price of the PS3 would never have been an issue, and we wouldn't have seen a sales surge when the PS3 hit $299.

However, I wouldn't...

Folks, Medal of Honor kept going after the soon-to-be-IW guys left EA, even though they comprised most of the dev team.

It took the MoH franchise *years* to recover. It wasn't until the recent MoH:Airborne game that it could even come close to Call of Duty. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised to see the Respawn/ex-IW take the reigns of a new Medal of Honor title, either, since they are under contract with EA -- possibly creating a title during off years, when the team currently wo...

Uno, XS Moto, Monsters (Probably) Stole My Princess!, Hysteria Project, Homerun Hitters, Shogi, and Charge! Tank Squad! all got released this past week on the PSN store.

Crisis Core not coming to the Go (yet) is probably S-E's fault, not Sony's. And the PSP GTAs are freaking brilliant handheld games -- I think about 95% of the handheld gaming population, who enjoys GTA at all, will agree with that.

You say that the store has only about 25%, of all titles ever releas...

I will interpret this guy's comments for the masses:

There are no buttons while I'm out hiking, except the ones on my pants. No programmers were needed to implement the button on my pants, thus Natal is better than controllers with buttons.

By the way, I'm looking for jersey recognition in Madden '11, EA, if you're reading.

The Go is my preferred handheld.

(1) Lugging around UMDs sucks, as the article states
(2) The screen is way better than any other gaming handheld on the market
(3) 16GB of internal storage would cost like $80 to add to my 2000, so the price wasn't really an issue, since I see the benefit of losing the physical media.
(4) The controls are better than the regular PSP -- anyone who says otherwise never tried one, or is a NBA star with huge hands, and was probably s...

Honestly, the online numbers of MAG have barely changed since before BF:BC2 released. It didn't seem to impact the MAG community much at all, which is a little strange.
