Gamecritics.com rents their own games all the time. They tell you after every review, and they're on meta. But yeah, people need to read the article before sensationalizing it. Not every review copy out there is a freebie from the pubs. Movies are the SAME WAY. Not every movie Ebert sees is free to the press. He had to pay to see TF Dark of the Moon in 3D. So if guys like Ebert don't get press screeners all the time wtf makes a no-name EU rag so special? Article title is misleading, f...
Yup. Singling out EA is just naivety. Many publisher reps have been caught bumping user scores on meta etc including Bethesda and Bioware.
Game journalism has long been broken and corrupt. Gamespot, Gametrailers, Kotaku have all been called out before. Sessler and Tallarico have both talked about broken journalism, nevermind all the basement EU sites on meta that have their own agendas yet are included on meta because meta favors quantity over quality.

Tell MS to abolish their XBox Live Online Pass first. No one else charges you extra for an online P2P gaming connection. I can't buy any game on XBox and play it online out of the box without buying an XBL pass and renewing it for ever. Can't share on the same console either! Family pack of $99 a year is far far far far worse a deal than a shareable one time $9.99 online pass for a used copy.
Until they make Silver free to play, they can't say $%&* about dev...
@droid'n'fighter
I buy games for me. I don't borrow games back'n'forth with my 65 year old mom, my pre-med cousin and my out of town in-laws, lol. So no it doesn't affect me. I'm not 13. If I want a game I can buy it or rent it. Don't have to wait for Johnny Quarterback down in the projects to borrow me a copy of Batman. Average age of a gamer is over 30. I barely have time to get together for a drink after work let alone partake in some lavish borrow/t...
GT still handles better in a simulation sense. Forza practically drives itself, try the fast red car in the demo -the 458 Italia- compared to the same un-tuned model in GT5. I think reviewers got so enamoured staring at the picturesque bright backgrounds, shiny streets and hundred light source show rooms that they never noticed they barely had to brake.
I gotta give Forza props for less screen tearing, more customs, letting you look around with the right stick while driving ...
Never understood the appeal of screenshot comparisons, especially when everyone calibrates differently. LOT is notorious for crushed blacks and over saturating brights, which is weird as they're polar opposites.
On a side note, do people who play driving games honestly give a toss what a tree looks like in photo mode, or if a random clock in Fallout has a sexy shadow? Video comparisons can at least show you things that affect gameplay. Problem with screenshots is they oft...
lol, I noticed that too! Warhammer Space Marines wants to be Gears just as bad as Quantum Theory, right down to the chainsaw. That site's slowly become what it hates. Look at them flip flop, from this http://www.msxbox-world.com... to this 5207d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment
So by your logic, it's equally good that BioWare (Mass Effect), 2K Games (BioShock), Capcom (Dead Rising), Namco (AceCombat), Ubisoft (FarCry), Volition (Saints Row), D3 (EarthDefenseForce) went multiplat too because they just couldn't sell enough to stay exclusive to the 360 either? Right? I guess MS investors then flogged *their* statisticians, analysts and Bungie too for not providing the 360 software numbers they wanted to see, right? Is that how your formula works?
Wtf are you doing in a HOME thread then other than trolling about your supercomputer TV, lol? I don't like RPGs, but you don't see me posting in Skyrim threads. FFS.
Why?
Well for starters Resistance 3 has EIGHTY, that's 8-0 reviews and Rage PS3 only has TWENTY FIVE. You really can't compare. Sample size is too skewed. 360 at least has SIXTY reviews for that 82% avg so it's a more fair comparison. Law of averages. It's a heckuva lot easier to maintain a higher average with 55 less reviews and none of the bad ones.
Anyways, my point was the game ain't even the best thing to come out in recent months, y...
Note all the multiplats R3 beat even past the top 10 US. Look at Star Wars, combined sales of Wii, 360, NDS, PS3, 3DS, PSP, PC, lol! Are Gamingbolt blind? If they broke down all those games to performances on just ONE, I repeat ONE platform instead of 3-7, the story would be entirely different. It'd be "why aren't people buying Deus Ex?" Too much expectations on exclusives.
@gamingdroid
Why do you assume the worst? Bungie went multiplat for their new...
Tell that to LBP, Demon's Souls, inFamous, MAG, Uncharted: DF, all million sellers with slow starts. The only people betting the farm on month 1 sales are fanboys. Gamingbolt failed to do any research while neglecting multiplat disasters all together. Multiplats bomb every week.
Not AAA? Uh, the reviews beg to differ. Even the haters say it's the best R to date. Read.
NPD (USA) ain't the world. vgchartz estimates are around half a mil' already. It's selling better than Deus Ex on PS3. Better than Dark Souls on 360.
Funny how Gamingbolt pick now to troll, but weren't telling devs to go multiplat after last year's Crackdown, Alan Wake, Metro2033, Splinter Cell underperformances. Nevermind it's been a crazy e...
Another Carmack quote? Someone's upset with his 360 meta-score that's lower than naughty PS3's R3 & KZ3. Adam Sessler hurt his feelings when he said RAGE had one of the worst closing chapters to a game he's ever played. Hey Carmack, the IO has nothing to do with a s%$&y ending.
I feel like I just time travelled into the Terminator universe and have to ask someone what day this is, what year lol! Is it 2011 or 2006?
Say what? inFamous 2 was the top selling game in June when it launched. This place is unbelievable. Even when a PS3 game tops NPD the doom brigade comes in to rewrite history, lol. inFamous 1 took 2 years to hit 2 million. inFamous 2 is almost half way there in only a couple months.
Everyone always gets themselves in a big hurry over sales, yet 2 years and three more zeros to the total later, no one cares. This article is redundant.
Kratos has been doing that for years, hehe
Uhhh, you realise that Sony's exclusives like KZ3 have outsold pretty much all of their multiplats this year, right? Why would investors be upset when they're getting their returns?
Go check out some NPD or vgchatz estimates. Big names like Crysis 2 (740,000), Deus Ex (490,000), Mass Effect 2 (600,000), Portal 2 (900,000), Dead Space 2 (900,000), Driver San Francisco (190,000) sold on PS3 worldwide. R3 is half way to Dead Space already. People's goalposts for wha...
My local Gamestop has exactly ZERO used copies. Cool story bro. The graphics and effects in the UK demo are good. You either never played it, are confusing it with the old BattleLA 2010 demo build, or think everything should look like Uncharted.
Some games burn slow. Look at Demon's Souls, not exactly a graphics killer either. Game took forever just to pass 1 million, but it got there. Crackdown 2 has yet to even hit that mark. It happens.
As opposed to the lame tacked-on MP car combat in Rage, right? Who put a Twisted Metal ripoff in my FPS?
