Nintendo is #1 in console sales this gen, not MS not Sony. Your "statistics" also fail to take into account that the 360 had a full year head start on PS3 and Wii, yet lost a 10 mil' lead to both.

New game sales? Some games sell better on PS3 -Dark Souls, Final Fantasy- and some sell better on 360 -Mass Effect, BioShock- . Others like COD/GTA the difference is negligible as they clear 9 mil' everywhere. There's no one absolute....

PS3 has adaptive v-sync for higher frames and only tears below 30 fps. 360 only has option for v-sync completely off where everything will tear. Adaptive v-sync's better

You didn't say the same thing, hence the disagrees. What you said on LOT was this:

" PS3 version seems to be missing some of the haze/smog /dust effects making it seem clearer in a still pic, when that wasn't intended by the devs."

Digital Foundry/LOT never said that.

You also said:

"It's pretty clear devs tried to preserve/keep the atmosphere in the 360 version as close as possi...

60% on metacritic. One of the worst sites they've ever added. $10 says Chick's got someone on the inside lol. Consistently hipster. Something's up.

According to LOT, Crysis3 was better on PS3 http://www.lensoftruth.com/...

PS3 has "higher resolution textures throughout" and doesn't screen tear at all. So he wasn't wrong

"why wouldn’t they explain his origins? That just doesn’t make sense"

Because they already made that game. It was called God of War. Came out almost 10 years ago. You want them to make the same game twice? This isn't the first prequel either. Chains of Olympus came out like 5+ years ago. Welcome to the future indeed.

Why bring up Gears, and what are you talking about lol? Lifetime GOW sales one year ago http://www.vg247.com/2012/0...

That and exclusive new IP jrpg NiNoKuni was just at #1 and has sold over 600,000 already.

Uncharted 3 came out same time as Gears3 BTW and both have passed 5 million. So has God of War 3. What's the problem? Gears...

Resistance had its best sales as a launch title, and now so will Killzone & inFamous. Great marketing. It'll expose the games to people who may not have tried them before as well as peeps just looking for something AAA at launch to compliment and justify their new $XXX.xx console purchase. KZ4 online will be the go-to title at launch to try out the new PS4 online social infrastructure. A lil' eye candy never hurt either.

@Jek

And Halo 4 sold millions less than Halo 3. Point? Gears 3 sold less than Gears 2, Forza sells millions less every time out, Crackdown 2 sold less than Crackdown. Even multiplats sell less over time, just look at the Dead Space 4 getting canned headline. KZ3 selling 400,000 less than KZ2 is peanuts when both passed 2 million. People act like this is a Playstation phenomenon.

inFamous 2 was bundled? Er, so are -many- AAA games. Gears 4705d ago 7 agree0 disagreeView comment

Dead Space
Dead Space Extraction
Dead Space Ignition
Dead Space 2
Dead Space Extraction HD
Dead Space 3

That's more than three games.

Throw in story DLC, comic books, a couple BluRay animated movies. EA picked the corpse clean for every micro-transactioned penny. Not surprised DS3 burned up attempting re-entry. Writing was on the wall when Schofield left.

Pretty safe to say, I'd say. People don't buy a new console bundle every time a new game comes out. Cheaper to pay $50 per game then $250 a bundle every other month. For the record, I've never seen bundles for Yakuza, 3D Dot Game Heroes, Valkyria Chronicles, White Knight Chronicles, Afrika, Haze, Heavy Rain, Demon's Souls etc.

Hmm, apparently those vgchartz stats have upset some people, looking at some of the disagrees. Hey, don't shoot the messenger. ...

Quite the smear campaign week, that's for sure. This old worn out myth again? Fact is, the vast majority of PS3 exclusives continue to sell better than their 360 counterparts. Where are those articles?

Console exclusives' estimates from vgchartz:

XBOX Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings = 600,000
PS3 Demon's Souls = 1.67 million

XBOX Splinter Cell: Conviction = 2 million
PS3 MetalGearSolid4 = 5.7 million

Yes, because soccer moms are soooo the lifeblood of this industry. It's what developers spend all that money going to school for. Learning that C++ so that Bertha can one day see her toes again. What an accomplishment. lol

So you've never heard of any PSN titles besides Journey, yet you 'hear about' meh 360 titles like Deadlight with its 68% metacritic average and consider that a "critical success"? PSN's DeadNation and its significantly higher 77% avg say hi.

You namedrop the standalone Alan Wake: American Nightmare which had a 76% avg, while conveniently forgetting that PSN exclusive inFamous: Festival of Blood scored HIGHER at...

Sony allowed Chen to delay Journey for not one, but TWO years. They did everything the developer asked and took a big publishing gamble on a simple PSN game. Chen bankrupted his own company. But no, blame Sony? wow.

Come on now, Live's been making games unavailable without subscriptions for years. Silver locks out the online portion of every game you've ever paid for, new -OR- used, as well as subscriptions you already pay for like Netflix. Letting Plus expire doesn't lock you out of discs and DLC you've already paid for.

dude, the difference between KZ2 & KZ3 sales estimates on vgchartz are less than 400,000. Thats peanuts. Spinning KZ3 repeatedly here as some noteworthy 'worst selling' tragedy is ludicrous lunacy. Especially since the difference in North American sales is a mere 10,000 units. And KZ1 sold the least fyi. Gawd. With standards like that, where do games like Forza fit in with the last few titles selling millions less than its predecessors? Millions?
