Easy with the 'fanboy' term there Ben, I've seen ya wave the 360 flag loud and proud on Reviews on the Run for years along with Scott C Jones who on air has said he only uses PS3 for BluRays. Pot/kettle buddy.
What's to explain? Everybody hated Kinect Star Wars, it did 55 on metacritic. They want a medal? There's also 3 Vita games there. Differenet platform standards. Just seems funny they'd give a polished well recieved JRPG like Ni No Kuni the same 6.5/10 they gave the intentionally broken and dated Deadly Premonition Directors Cut.
Nobody talks about BioShock Infinite anymore clarkdef, like most AAA sequels this year it failed to sell through. Ni No Kuni, a new IP, sold more on PS3.
GTA is yet another sequel. Back to San Andreas. This is like the 10th GTA game. What's the historical significance?
New IPs with great debuts like TLOU will go down in history as "more important" because they simply don't happen very often. You're only new once. Just ask DMC.

Didn't seem to bother Polygon in Dead Space 3, Halo 4 and Gears of War Judgment which they rated way OVER the industry average. Ridiculously so for the universally lowest rated entries in those series.
Funny then how exclusives Ni No Kuni, God of War Ascension, Sly Cooper and Last of Us ALL got thrown under the bus this year way BELOW the industry average. Suddenly Polygon are gaming auteurs?

I read it, the Polygon guy took off points for the exact things that Edge added points for. Guy basically admits he's a p***y and couldn't handle the depressing in yo' face finality of the gameplay. I say good! Multiplayer/coop shoehorning as a whole is killing games. Did Dead Space 2 need MP? NO! Did Dead Space 3 need co-op? NO! Fuse was built around co-op and it bombed. Hard. No need to follow. BioShock Infinte shows it aint necessary.
