Besides Gears of War 3, can you honestly point out ANY game that is decent for 2011?
After reading "Xbox Live is a good enough reason to own an Xbox 360" I lost all faith in anything they had to say... and then the article backed my original thoughts.
This article is a prime example of why I'm a proud PS3 owner. Sony seems to remember "Video Games" is the business they're playing in. And what adds to that is that the PS3 is a multimedia device. Not only does it have TONS of GOOD games, but you can pretty much do everything with it....
Easily the most anticipated game of ALL of 2011.
Honestly, I've been waiting for this ever since I salivated over Uncharted 2 (One of the biggest Uncharted fans here).
But my top 10 list would go like this for 2011:
1. Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception (For sure buy)
2. Dragon Age 2 (Pre-ordered)
3. TEAM ICO Collection
4. Killzone 3 (For sure buy)
5. Resistance 3
6. inFAMOUS 2
7. Brink
8. Littl...
It's almost sad that it only sold that little as it is on more than one Platform. Yet GT5 can sell that well ONLY being on PS3. Give it some time.
GT5 will see normal Gran Turismo sales by the end of the year.
Once again, this shows that Europeans enjoy a QUALITY game, rather than buying a hopped-up-on-crack action racer.
GT5 sold incredibly well in Europe, and since it was accepted in the racing nation, I think PD should be happy with selling well just there.
Although I think I blame this one on lack of advertising rather than the American population. Really boggles my mind that Sony can achieve the sales they do with little to no advertising.
I'm not surprised. If anyone doubted GT5 was going to sell well is really out of the loop. GT5 to racing is like Mario to platforming. It's the best of it's kind.
So yeah, expect that number to raise almost double by this time next year.
I used to think Black Ops was going to be much better than Modern Warfare 2, I even traded my copy of it in towards Black Ops. But after playing it to rank 45 or so, I know for a fact Black Ops is all smoke and mirrors. It adds in half assed content that probably would have been in Modern Warfare 2 if it wasn't for Activision not giving Infinity Ward enough space or freedom.
But nevertheless, I went back to playing Modern Warfare 2 on PC, rather than PS3, and LOVED it. Wh...
I have a very good sneaking suspicion that half the people who voted for GT5 probably didn't buy it.
If you guys are calling another PS3 exclusive amazing. You better fucking buy it. That's why most PS3 Exclusives don't sell nearly as much as they are hyped.
PS. I've bought GT5 and I'm enjoying it thoroughly. Along with Uncharted 2, Resistance 1 & 2, God of War 3 & the Collection, Modnation Racers, inFamous, MGS4, Killzone 2 AND L...
I don't know, maybe you need to take a look at yourself first. American's do the EXACT same thing on a daily basis for almost every other nation other than their own, with the thought that they're number one.
So if you can't take a little joke, then maybe you should stay quiet.
And no I'm not generalizing. I've met a handful of nice Americans. In fact, my girlfriend is from California.
You have clearly never used PS+ if you think all you get is discounts. I've been a member since it launched, and the only thing I ever bought was the discounted RDR Undead Nightmare DLC.
I've received more than enough to warrant my purchase and then some. But I do have to say they better follow up with the new features thing they spoke about. That's one thing I'm excited to find out.
Oh and don't forget because it's limited like that, you're also paying for the right to play the other 50-70% (depending on the game) of the game you already payed full price for.
Whereas you have full access to every single PS3 game you buy.
PS+ is absolutely optional, XboxLive is not (optional in the sense they don't force you, but not in the sense of needing it to fully get use out of your Xbox).
PS+ is for Playstation fans or those who don't plan on buying games often but do enjoy playing them.
With PS+ you get about 2 or 3 new free games a month, which would keep some more "casual" gamers, in the more literal meaning, busy for a while without having to purchase any retail/full games.
PS+ is worth it, but completely optional. I personally love being a PS+ member, free stuff is always good. But I do believe it has TONS of growing to do...
I think he meant to say video games are the reason why barely anyone watches movies now. Another reason why Twilight has the ability to top the charts. Everyone else is too busy playing a new big game at home on our PSWii60's.
Wow, B-Spec mode actually looks amazing. Not to mention you can switch at any time if I read that correctly. I know I'll be taking advantage of both A-Spec and B-Spec modes, managing my own team of racers AND taking part in races.
But first, like every other GT game I've ever played, I'll be doing the licensing first. Can't wait for this to come out.
I think it was a sure thing when the series sold as well as it did and got the most GOTY awards that any game has every gotten.
Gotta love it though, Uncharted is my favorite new IP of this generation.
Along with Bioshock and Dragon Age.
Agreed. Nothing has much on Uncharted in terms of quality.
I absolutely can't wait to see what Uncharted 3 brings to the table.
They brought MP to Uncharted 2, and did a damn good job. Still has around 50k players playing online a day (give or take). Not to mention they added a Story Co-op mode AND Goal-based 4-Player Co-op modes, along with a "Horde" style mode.
Honestly, Uncharted 3 is going to be my top game of whatever year it co...
Who DIDN'T see this coming.
I'm gonna go ahead and say this about sales of GT5.
First Week: 1.5 - 2 million
First Month: around 5 million
Although I could be way off and it can make my Week prediction in a day, and my month prediction in a week.
And if Sony wants to make sure they get the most from GT5, they'd be spamming adverts all over the SPEED Network, SPIKE TV, and any other TV Station that hosts people in the age range of 20 and up.
Need for Speed: Shift 2: Unleashed...? What?
Sadly enough, I can easily name 5 or so PS3 Exclusives and a couple of Multiplatform games that would completely wipe the use of ever touching or looking at any of these listed games.
Nice try there, but damage control is impossible when Sony owns 2011 like they owned 2009-present.
PS3 is catching up very fast, and I don't see them stopping any time soon.
I love how Microsoft can give all their gamers the good old "Fuck you" ...
