You know what the real gamers did when this happened? They didn't care. This happened on account of greed and too much power to the "consumer"s part.
And I only put consumer lightly as some of these guys probably never really used the PS3 for the games.
Sony realized the court is there for a reason and they should use it. THAT is the proper way of handling things. Sony didn't turn a blind eye to corruption on their console. They fought it. ...
Oh, so in your little fucked up world, Sony should be punished for keeping their hardware safe? Because SONY saw this coming, they're the bad guys?
That is 100% equal to saying I'm a cunt because I put a lock on my house because I don't want someone to break in.
This is why I'm glad Sony is being so heavy handed. I don't care what kind of person you are, DO NOT FUCK WITH SOMEONE ELSES SHIT. The PSN is 100% Sony's, and the Playstation b...
I could see Sony doing this as they already fiddled with the idea with PSP - PS3 connectivity. Not to mention they plan on doing something of this sort with NGP and PS3. Where you play a game on PS3 and take it with you on-the-go for NGP.
So this could very well be that prediction Kojima had about consoles and handhelds kind of combining.
:EDIT: But I guess I should say this since it's a Nintendo article. If these rumors are actually true, I think I may ...
Simple answer: No.
Long answer: No. We don't lose anything for it being down. We may get a little chuffed, but that's the extent of it. PS+ users and PSN regular users don't lose anything.
An extra note on PS+ is that PS+ only gives us free content or cheaper content and the PSCloud. By the PSN being down for a couple days we don't lose anything. We'll still get the same old content when it comes back online.
This game is going to be boss. Can't wait to hear/see more on this.
:EDIT: Oh for crying out loud, I know I shouldn't judge by photos but I need to say this. I honestly hope they don't fall back on generic anime archetypes. What I see from those character pictures is:
- one at-first worthless hero who realizes his power and saves the world
- one mandatory old-drunkard for comedic relief (who probably ends up being your mentor)
- one unne...
I WANT THIS GAME.
I don't plan on setting any standards for this one. The best bet is to wait for E3. I'm sure they'll fully announce their Killzone game for NGP and their PS3 title @ E3.
Going to be exciting for sure.
@gapecanpie & Dekonega :
Okay, I never thought there was actually going to be two stubborn to all hell people here, but I guess I forgot I was on N4G.
Ask anyone, ANYONE in the world, what the PS3, or Playstation brand represents. They'll say VIDEO GAMES. Not a fucking computer. THAT'S the point I'm trying to make. If you buy a PLAYstation because you want a computer, you must be a very, VERY, stupid man/woman/it.
The basis ...
I don't care why YOU think I should care about Versus XIII, all I need to know is what I saw in the Gameplay trailer. Versus XIII looks ace and I plan on buying it. Here's to hoping for a January - March 2012 release.
That's the first thing I saw lol. I had to look closely tho, as I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me.
So what exactly are they fighting for? The right to modify whatever you want, when you want? When do you draw the line?
Did they realize that while hacking was open and not-yet-blocked that it was ruining peoples game time? That certain popular games were getting hacked up the wazoo? How would this help ANYONE in the bigger picture?
They're fighting for a minority group while sacrificing the majority. How is that any different from their twisted view of S...
You know what's funny? If I push someone over and over again while walking until they fall down, it means they're incompetent. Oh wait, that ONLY applies to Anon.
Honestly, you can't blame Sony for getting attacked, or having their servers messed with like this. If everyone just left them alone to begin with, NONE of these problems would have come up in the first place.
By your logic, if I punch someone hard enough and they get knocked out, it...
NOBODY needs to be reimbursed for this. PS+ users don't pay to play games online, they pay to get free games every second Tuesday, or sometimes once a month. We all got our free games, or we'll get them when it goes back online.
Nobody is losing anything so nobody needs to get anything from Sony. We don't pay to play online.
My lord. This is actually over? Hopefully this means we'll see infinitely less hacker/Anon articles on N4G. Now all we need is the PSN to come back up again and everything will be fine.
I'd love to see his take on Burnout. I don't exactly agree with guns on vehicles part, but more violence would be great. From what I remember, Burnout is about wrecking cars. I'm pretty sure he'd add "No More Heroes" styled character violence for those who are in the cars.
Although this is sort of disgusting now that I think about it, it'd be an interesting title, that's for sure.
Better be a new IP. I'd like to see a different Genre from these guys. Lets just hope they hire on better writers and voice acting casters.
Or just anyone in charge of cinematics, writing and story. Hand it all over to those with tried and true experience.
Lets hope this passes soon. I REALLY want to play some RDR. Also wouldn't mind getting some Uncharted 2 matches in while they're doing 3x Cash weekend.
You could say the same about Netflix or Hulu against the PS Video Store. All it would do is give PS3 gamers and PC Steam gamers more options.
All they have to do is work out a deal where they share a certain amount of profits on Steam game downloads. Especially since it'd be Steam on the PSN as opposed to the PSN on PC/Steam.
This new found partnership between Valve and Sony is actually quite exciting. There are virtually limitless opportunities.
PC version against Uncharted 3? Most likely.
Console version against Uncharted 3? Probably not.
Hell, nobody has actually seen up-to-date in-game footage of Uncharted 3, while we have a history of Multiplats not nearing the quality of exclusives. ESPECIALLY the likes of Uncharted. Crysis 2 came the closest, but I fully believe it failed to trump U2, or Killzone 3.
So we'll have to wait and see.
I'll be buying both regardless, ...
It's not Sony PR's fault that more information wasn't released sooner. They had to make complete sure that what they say is the truth. So they held off from speaking too much on the subject at all. It was probably mostly up to the engineers and the guys high up in the ranks. The PR just had to stick to their script.
That's one problem with many, MANY "gamers". They don't understand the inner-workings of a huge company like this. They have no idea...
