Yes. They released Magic Knight Rayearth on the Sega Saturn in the United States.
Yeah, I have to agree with you there. Acclaim had no business in the wrestling genre.
@gamer_xaf Live and learn.
Too bored to type it again so here you go - Um, that was on purpose. Board as in a 2x4 as in this is a "hardcore" match only type game. Ugh. Nevermind, try and do a play on words and this is what you get. lol

It is amazing what the Master System was capable of. Too bad Sega sucked at bringing that out in the releases we saw in North America- maybe they would have faired better if they had released more impressive titles.
Have you read this list yet? They are strategy RPG's but they are traditional style (not Game of War or Empire War or any other "menu" game).
Also, check out the offerings by Kemco. They have been releasing traditional turn based role playing games on Android and iOS for years now. Some really good ones for about $5 to $14 or so.
@BlackIceJoe I agree, it sucks. I mean, for them it is as simple as just giving over a CD with some source code on it and they can cash the licensing check. I don't understand why that has to be so hard. I mean, I am sure there are contracts and the like to make sure this or that is done but still, not exactly rocket science.
This is doubly stupid when you think about the PSN and the Vita (and before that the PSP). They could have been doing "unreleased classics&...
I work closely with a retro developer and he has tried to license these old titles and has only met with complete and utter lack of interest from Sony. They have flat out refused to license these titles out to anyone. That is stupid.
Not saying the Saturn was a failure as far as great games we got on it. When you add in the 32X, Sega CD, Saturn and Nomad (all being advertised at least within a 1 1/2 year to 2 year period) it confused gamers and apparently confused Sega also.
It wasn't that Sega had a problem putting out great hardware or good games. Their problem was marketing. After the Genesis "Welcome to the Next Level" campaign, they kind of lost their edge.
It is an amazing game, it is one that definitely would have shown off the Amiga's capabilities against the Genesis/SNES.
I am not sure why this was not finished, or attempted sooner. We saw a ton of Atari ST/Commodore Amiga ports to the Genesis by this point. Elite would have been a monumental addition.
My thoughts exactly. I wish this was released. 1994 could have been a stellar year for Sega had they gotten their focus straight. So many great games are surfacing that were ready for release that year but were canceled for some reason.
It will be interesting to follow this one through development. The dev is the person behind the Star Fox and F-Zero on Genesis tech demos so they have experience getting "just a bit more" out of the 16-bit Motorola CPU.
We have found about 15 more Sega Genesis homebrew titles that are works in progress (many don't have demos available yet). I will be updating RGM as I have time.
Glad to have found another Sega Genesis fan.
