Dragon's Castle was the surprise in this article. Hard to believe that is an indie project- it is starting to look like a commercial game.
Thank you for clarifying your view. It is appreciated.
Why do you feel they are trash? Can you elaborate a bit?
Google it for the files. They made the sound files available, source code and all. It works really well on the PSP. When my net is fixed I can message you the links or post here for others too.
It is on par with early NES games but nothing on it can hold a candle to the likes of Super Mario Bros 3.
There are some decent arcade conversions available. Updated Joust, Asteroids, etc. It is a cheap system to collect for and there is homebrew still being made for it (which we do our best to cover on RGM there).
I agree. Star Control 2 made my list of 10 essential 3DO Exclusives every fan should play. Awesome game. Have you tried the newer ports to Windows and PSP? Pretty darn nice.
I wonder if we will see this one make a return sooner than later?
Yeah, I agree. I forgot about Tekken and Tekken 2 in my article and for some reason went with Toshinden. I do remember when VF2 hit people at the local EB running it down and talking about how great Toshinden was (even the clerks) and I was like- really? That may be why that game stuck in my head.
Comments like yours, and the support, is why we do these articles. That and we enjoy these trips down memory lane too.
Just found out, this was programmed in BASIC for Atari 2600, not assembly language. BASIC. For anyone that understands programming languages, BASIC is far from ideal for much more than "Hello world".
This is a work in progress. The previous version (linked to in my article) was much better (i.e., further along and featured actual fights).
That is the great thing about opinions. Everyone is entitled to their own. So far, judging by the response on this- you are in the minority.
I would personally love it if they did.
Went with coukd because this is an article about a guy with a dream to get Sega back to making a console of their own. Nothing official.
I loved Bass Fishing. It was great. Sega was good at the arcade stuff. I wish they could find a way to recreate that magic with the online services. Surely there is a way.
I only bring the truth. Sometimes it hurts. Sometimes it heals. Most of the time it frees.
You mean the Coleco Chameleon?

In interviews with various magazines/sites after the demise of the DC it was made pretty clear that Sega was given access to information that other 3rd parties were not. They were given a leg up to make their games as good as possible. I know this was mentioned for sure with regards to Nintendo and Microsoft (Sega even made an F-Zero game for Nintendo).
They were basically getting 2nd party treatment at a 3rd party rate. You can't get much closer "to your own ha...
