Yeah I miss those days when all we had to worry about was how many MBs our memory cards had for game saves. I'm sure if Sony or Microsoft wanted to keep physical games alive we would have faster disk technology.
Since this gen started we have been forced to install to the HDD and not play from the disc.
The only thing keeping me from being interested in it is the lack of a disk drive.
Didn't we find out their using an emulator rather than ports?
At least they are getting payed how much Sony paying you.. oh wait you sellout for nothing.
Who buys a budget console caring about if it's 'weak'? That's a fanboy question lol.
I just went through the article and not a single time was the word 'upscaled' mentioned. Where they do mention doubling or tripling the resolution of games they are talking about original Xbox and 360 games which they can change natively. If you've ever used an emulator to play games you will know it can make a big difference in clarity without ever changing the original textures. So yes it won't make them look like they leaped a generation but it will make them look better. ...
The only enhancements is usually resolution and there are not that many that have that to begin with. Appalling? lol you can tell when someone is just hating and never actually tried the features he's triggered about.
I have a Xbox One X and a Xbox One S, other than resolution I haven't noticed much difference playing 360 games between them (Not many are even enhanced to begin with). If you actually played 360 games through Xbox One and personally saw the difference you probably wouldn't be freaking out over a console you will never get.
There's no reason the X version of multiplatform games won't be better, of course the PS5 version may load a few seconds faster.
With Xbox One if you put into developer mode you can install Retroarch on it and play the classic Mario games. I assume the Series S|X with have the same option.
I have a 4k tv but it only does 120hz @ 1080p.
We are talking launch shipments, I don't see any problem with moving more of them towards retailers who release on schedule. Of course Walmart can do what they want but they should expect less allocation at launch if they do.
What does future proof even mean? If you mean playing games not coming to Xbox One than yeah it does it. If you haven't even bought anything from this generation yet I would still recommend getting a PS4 in the upcoming holidays. I see no reason in needing games when they are at their highest price.
You don't need anything you listed if your buying the S because you lack funds. Game developers at Sony and Microsoft don't work for favors.
The only games I've been playing the past couple years are remakes/remasters on my One X and PC which I'm fine with. I was really hyped for PS4 and got it at launch because of Infamous Second Son and Killzone Shadow Fall but other than graphics they really weren't as good as the first Infamous or Killzone 2. Nothing really interests me for the next generation of consoles like I was for PS4 so I will probably wait a while this time.
If anyone has a VR headset I would recommend trying out the 3DS emulator with the 3D feature enabled. I tried it with my Oculus Go using Virtual Desktop and it worked surprisingly well. The only negative is the emulator is not optimized enough to get great performance in every game yet.
I can't imagine buying Nintendo games digitally when the physical copies retain their value for so long.
I will always remember the time Sony did the Vita giveaway at Taco Bell and people were getting a win screen even when you actually didn't and I was one them lol. I haven't eaten much Taco Bell since.
I'm pretty sure it's been both their mission since the PS3 days by releasing games that were unfinished.
