I imagine that new third party PS4 releases will go on at least until PS6 is announced (2027?). Sony revealed 46 Million active PS4 users as of March 2025. While the number probably dropped over the past year due to PS5 discounts, it's likely still in the several 10's of millions of active players on PS4. Now the bigger question is how many of those active users are still buying games.

No it's not, you have been able to get a PS5 Digital for $399 forever and now they have an Astro Bot bundle for $399 as well. Plus the games peak at $70 versus Nintendo's new $80 price.

Unfortunately lots of game developers release their games broken on disc with day one patches being required or require an online connection to play at all. Sony and Microsoft don't seem concerned as they obviously despise physical media because it means they have to give retailers a cut. With the price of flash drives reaching all time lows, if any console manufacture cared about physical media, we would already have replaced disks with some type of flash storage that would allow updates...

I returned to Sea of Thieves recently (I preordered at launch) and the issues then is still the issue now. You will face the same Skeleton enemies over and over with little variety to the enemies types, gameplay mechanics, or missions. Once you've played a couple weeks of the grind that is this game, you will most likely have experienced everything it has to offer with little reason to continue leveling up. The islands don't change and the gameplay never gets better than swing basic s...

The best place for all console players is on PC where you don't have pay for online multiplayer and you get the exclusives from PlayStation, Xbox, and even Nintendo.

PC offers 4K at 120fps, I question why anyone would pay a premium for a 720p, 30fps experience.

If they keep any of the characters from the previous games I think it would do fine unlike Saints Row which decided to replace fan favorites with less likable replacements. I wouldn't be surprised if that decision caused a majority of their buyers to be new to the series rather than returning players. I will say though, if Infamous Second Son or the first two Infamous games were remade I would be a day one buyer on PC.

Every developer they've ever purchased, at one point, made games for other platforms.

Your argument for why Sony is allowed to make third party games exclusive is beyond a joke.

Microsoft doesn't make exclusives anymore, all of them are available on PC and streamable through mobile devices.

I do like 4K but I prefer the smoothness that 120fps brings in the games I play.

Dude stop lying, the Series S has no problem hitting 120fps in multiplayer on Call of Duty.

Most new features require CPU power and the Series S is definitely not far from the Xbox Series X and PS5 in that regard.

No problem for me on my 1080p gaming monitor. But some games like Dirt 5 at 120fps does look like 240p.

I don't know, I'm playing Modern Warfare 2 at 120fps on Series S and have no problems. I played it on PS5 during the Beta and other than resolution I don't see any difference.

It is pennies depending on how much you pay for electricity, it would cost me a little over a $1 a month if left in this mode 24/7.

I just did the math and it would only cost me around $14 a year with taxes and rounding up if I had a Series X. Personally on my Series S and PS5 I leave the option off because I don't like my consoles heating up while I'm not using the console. The main reason I can even see someone using them for is faster boot times but Series S is probably the fastest modern console to turn on from a cold boot.

Honestly don't like anything about it other than the plastic doesn't feel cheap and the rumble motors are better. I've held controllers with better ergonomics, d-pad, and buttons for cheaper.

I've never had a controller die just bad batteries and stick drift which is why I'm about to be on my third dualsense.

Its got a 60 FPS boost on the Series consoles in case anyone is interested. It's a little late for me to play with FPS Boost since I already have 100% on Xbox (I also have 100% on PS3 and PS4 as well). For the best experience I recommend a PC but Series is the next best thing.
