That isn't entirely true. They also provide recommended specs to play games at low/medium/high/ultra settings as well and give users the option to choose one of these setting instead of forcing them play with sliders each and every time they get a new game.
They test and QA with these specs and they can do they exact same with PS4. PS4 neo is high/ultra and PS4 is medium/high.

You don't need the new PS4 for PSVR, them selling both has no effect on me. I am likely not upgrading because I am happy with my current PS4 but I also don't care that there is an option to upgrade. PSVR is already doing great and has well over 100 games announced so far. Nothing to worry about on that front.

First off I don't think anyone cares about your opinion or believes you actually own a PS4 and the PS4 has hundreds of more games than both Xbox One and Wii U with the most and highest rated AAA and indie exclusives.
This year it already got two high rated AAA exclusives so far with MLB 16, and R&C and Digimon did well also and some high rated indie exclusives/console exclusives with The Witness, Firewatch, Salt & Sanctuary, Enter the Gungeon and several others....

I don't know why anyone's plan would be to buy an even weaker platform because a stronger platform is coming out. Really doesn't make any sense.

Compared to Forza 6 and Project Cars it is. Before you disagree go watch Forza 6 gameplay video side by side with the live stream from yesterday. The cars and environment look better in GT and the game isn't even complete.
