finally dies, everyone that bought one isn't completely screwed, they still have a pretty good upconverting DVD player.

Its not like Betamax where all it was, was a paperweight.

and will have a great 2008? in comparison to what, the origonal Xbox? Everyone is saying how the PS3 had a bad year in 2007 yet, it out sold the 360 worldwide and it had a great year...

I think the 360 will do well but not as well as 2007, but the PS3 will do better in 2008 than it did in 2007.

as there are no rules as far as this is concerned but i don't imagine it would make sense for them. Even the current gen games are being delayed after 2.5 years of learning the tech. so i don't think they would introduce a new one now. Plus they are just starting to get a good user base that developers like, the larger the user base the more people there are to buy a game and thats where every one makes the money. It takes years to develop a new system and to make games to release with th...

We create all the hype ourselves, we talk online about games, we search for every bit of info we can find, and we get disappointed when there are delays. I don't remember ever doing this for games on the PS2 or XBox or previous generations either. Now, developers are under so much pressure and the stakes are so much higher... take Assassins Creed for instance, great game, it could have been better... how much more time would have been needed to refine it? Would we rather have waited? At th...

Payton is a Seattle Seahawks fan...If it was good news i would think he would announce it if Seattle won as he would be happy. It looks like if the Packers win he loses a bet and has to do the announcement that no one wants to do.

I really hope i am wrong, but it all seems kind of weird.

Its always been only on the PS3, it would only be news if they said it was going to be on the 360, which its NOT!

which is where i spend most of my time...lol it shouldn't cost much to add to the disk. It is an added feature. Studios are always lookin for added content to make their disk more desirable. It seems like a easy a cheap way to do this.

psp 1000 has 32mb and the slim has 64, but either way because the srcreen douse not have that high a resolution even if it did compress it even further, we would we even notice on the psp...i didn't think so.

The PSP continues to gain versatility and as such i think we can expect the same kind of improvments to happen in the years to come for the PS3.

....until there are Millions of systems out before they file a law suit. They could have done this immediately but noooo.....lets wait until they have Millions of these out so that we can sue for more on a tech, we patented but couldn't make work, or market.

People that have a core 360 cannot get Achievments. As the core has no HDD it obviously cannot store achievments, unless, like email this info is stored on the Microsoft servers.

Logical thinking says that achievments are stored on the 360. But the fact that there are 360's with no HDD say this cannot be true.

then they will have to go blue ray.

They are going to have a tough time trying to make money selling HD DVDS in the future so if they want to get in the Hi Def disk market, they MUST go Blue Ray.

Sony could probably charge Universal for the opportunity to go Blue, but they won't, in the interest of making the most money and having the formate adopted as early as possible they will let anyone wanting to promote blue ray do so with minimal interference.

In the 8 months I have owned my Ps3 I have purchased 13 PS3 Games and 4 PS2 games. When the PS4 comes out in 2012 or whenever I will still want the ability to play my 75+ games that i have by then. If The new system is ONLY set up for DD then how will this work. Also how would I play all the Blue Ray movies i will have purchased by then. I believe any new console that comes out in the next 5-8 years MUST include some kind of optical drive. Not necessarily for the games that come out for ...

It would work like an ipod, it would downconvert the picture and sound to something supported by the psp, no use haveing 1080p picture on a 350 pixel screen(not sure of actuall resolution).
It shouldn't take up more than a couple 100mbs.
