But i am alittle confused by their numbers. The say the Wii will have an intall of 30 million by the end of 2008 and that the PS3 will win this gen with an intall of 38 million by 2011. If thats true then what is gonig on with the Wii? It will sell 12 million this year and then in 09 and 10 is will not even sell 8 million and get beat by the PS3....
to build up the hype, but if they want to sell a million on day 1, then they better set an "OFFICIAL" street date... and stick to it.

Sony and Microsoft should release a new console every 3 years (not 2 consoles every 3 years). What i mean is Microsoft in 2010, Sony is 2013, Microsoft 2016 and so on. That way everyone would buy pretty much every console and buy games for them and we would always have next gen machines to play on. That the Wii is as powerful tech wise or graphicly. Only that is will compete for the gamers dollars for years to come and that it will go the distance and not lose momentum.
This really doesn't make me want to get a Wii, Hot Shots Golf 5 looks amazing, but really...maybe i expect to much.

I have NG Sigma, and while playing that one and looking at the screens of NG 2 for the 360 i feel that the graphics are too shiny, like there are not enough textures. For instance, his outfit looks like it is made of latex because it has no texture, if its leather it would not be as shiny or we could at least see some kind of pattern on it. This is a small complaint but just how i feel about it.

more because they have to put it on a UMD and sell it through retailers who also need to get a piece of the action. But really if you can DL it on PSN for the PS3 and then play it remotely from your PSP, then i fail to see the advantage of the psp version.
The 360 did out sell the PS3 in 2006 because it was only out 2.5 months, and in 2007 the PS3 outsold the 360 (even though it was only out in Europe 9 months).
I am happy to see that Sony has some competition this time around. The 360, with all its hardware issues is still a very good competitor this generation. Its competition that makes the industry move forward and also lowers the prices. Microsoft has done a better job this time in marketing their machine and it shows. I'm also willing to bet their next machine will be built rock solid as was the PS3 this time around.

installs, but they should try to limit the size to like 2 - 3 gigs. 5 gigs is alot considering the avg. ps3 has 40 that would only give you the option to install 8 games at a time. I currently own 13 and 2008 is going to be a great year for games. Not to mention games off of the PSN, if you DL Warhawk and such games you would be limiting yourself tremendously.
All in all its not a hard fix though.
Release date i don't think there will be a problem. I mean there should be around 500,000 pre orders. the only thing that is holding this game back is the delays...people are afraid to do a pre order because they have no confidence that this will get released when they say. Its already gone from "2008" to "2007" now back to "2008". Set a "SOLID" date and let the pre orders roll in. If it sells poorly its their own fault for screwing with our emotio...
just make a minor tweek to the laser, do a firmware update and rebadge the players as Blue ray? That would seem like the most cost effective way of turning this situation around.
if i figure 8.8 mil. ps3's at 400 bucks (lowest cost avail.) that equals like 3.52 billion, this does not include anything else just consoles in 2008. I don't know about any of the other figures but since this one is suspect i thisn kthey are all inaccurate.
The article in general is good, bhut with accurate figures, the result may be different. (example, subtract a billion from microsoft for rrod)
on where you live. I guess if you make the prediction as vague as possible you can never be called on it.
and can say that it is in fact pretty amazing, especially for a 120" (12 foot) screen. Although for fps games i would not recommend a screen that big, this is because on a smaller screen 50"-60" you can actually see the whole screen, and therefore see where the enemies are.
