you can't fix (change) gameplay in 2 months. taking your example, yeah sure the graphics of the BF3 beta were bad but apart from weapons being nerfed, it played identically to the retail version.
people are voicing concerns over gameplay; that the game looks boring, is button-mashy, etc. and not that the game's presentation is disastrous
the gameplay you're seeing now is the gameplay you'll see when you load the disc into you X1.
you're an Xbox fan though, so it's easy for you to jump over since you probably don't like PS3 exclusives much.
I can honestly say that the PS3 exclusive support has outweighed it's multiplatform 3rd party support this year.
if you are mainly an Xbox gamer this year must've been rough. if I were an Xboxer I'd also hop on the next-gen train ASAP (not @ €499 though)

consoles would be overpriced but Apple software is impeccable, they never skimp on quality and they have a better knack of knowing what consumers what as compared to Microsoft.
the casuals would gobble it up and help put the spotlight back on the industry. that means more money for devs and better 3rd party support/quality (just a theory). Apple would get on the indie bandwagon as well.

the game isn't due out til some time next year. I'm pretty sure the "lowkey" presence at Gamescom was planned. weren't many of the demonstrations behind closed doors?
Activision have the best marketing dudes in the industry. when the time comes to ramp up buzz for the game we will damn well know it

I don't think anybody ever said that they wouldn't look excellent.
they just won't look as good as PS4, (especially 1st party) that's it. that is nothing to be ashamed of though, 360 users enjoyed their 1st party titles even though they didn't look as good as PS3 1st party titles.
