This isn't news. Everyone knew this is what the next console would be after the rog ally. Kudos to MS for getting the trained seals to plaster these fake headlines onto social media after the green wedding.
This is what happens when you build a reputation of quality releases over the years. Gamers that trust the brand are more willing to part with their money.
It will be sunsetted in the sense that there will not be another console made by MS within a closed system. Consoles will be made third-party very similar to the ROG handheld. So, yes, it indeed will be the end of xbox as we know it.
Since the next gen consoles are being delayed, Sony is well positioned with the pro to continue to generate robust console sales in the coming years. They just need to role out that PSSR 2.0 update and get more devs to commit to enhancements. Wolverine running markedly better on the pro would convince people to cross over.
This is all Jim Ryan's fault.
This is looking more and more like an Uncharted rip-off and less and less like a Bond game.
The motion sickness problem needs a solution before the tech can expect a mainstream market. It also needs to get more compact and easy to use.
This is the positive result of consistency in quality. When brand trust is established, like with the GTA series, it's bank for publisher. This is "old school" economic policy that has been largely replaced by the "raid and plunder" destructive policies established by companies like EA and Activision.
I don't see this game finding an audience. It seems to be entirely predicated on this unique game mechanic, but with little else to hold ones interest. Hopefully, it will do well enough because we need more original IPs.
Looks like a Fortnite season. Way to strike while the irons hot, boys! They still haven't fumigated the stench of the short-lived Ryan era, it seems.
It's been in development for 15 years and counting. So, who cares, really? Say whatever you want. It's completely meaningless.
The moment you position away from the edict that great first-party games sell consoles, you're cooked.
So their strategy is not to lower prices as they've done with every other console generation past, but asking players pretty please.
Dumbest statement from a CEO of a game studio this year....so far.
Funny how these sudden mass firings at major studios where employees unionized have nothing to do with union busting. Must be just a coincidence that it happens exactly the same way every single time.
What other terms are there?
There hasn't been many triple A titles of note this year. 2026 on the other hand, looks stacked.
If they're going to do stuff like MW3 and BLOPS 7, at least make the campaign split-screen co-op. The way the maps are structured there's no reason not to, and it just adds value to a game that's short on it as it is.
If that's going to be Valves position then they should be prepared to go the way of the Google Stadia.
Sounds about right. The game is enjoyable, but it definitely feels like the result of an A.I prompt "top ten open world" games.
