This was, in short, Sony's attempt to make ARM-like legacy-free platform.
ARM became successful because;
1. They completely kicked out x86-type legacy for benefits of power efficiency.
2. They found completely new hardware platform, smartphone.
3. Efficiency outweighed speed in the mobile platform in early days.
4. Microsoft's monopoly policy did not work.
CELL did not have any of above.

That is exactly what PS+ is good for.
Keep giving second chance to forgotten masterpieces.

I am still confused about marketing of Shenmue 3.
Should they aim general public, even though the project has been funded by specific group often considered as a niche? I mean, if Shenmue 3 was marketable, they wouldn't have asked for Kickstarter funding in begin with.
Didn't the backers expect direct sequel that couldn't have made for Dreamcast 20 years ago? Should Shenmue 3 look like modern sandbox game instead?

I am not Shenmue fan, but I gu...

I feel frustration of XBOX fanboys.
For them, this should have been completely opposite... when XBOXone launched.

Blizzard are not allowed to speak even a word 'China' without permission from the dictatorship government.

It is obvious from their recent statements that their highest priority is NOT about controlling PR damages. No.1 priority is about protecting the Chinese Government's reputation. From the begining, maintaining reputation of the dictatorship government has been all that matter for the suppression of freedom of speech, and the Blizzard's corporation with ...

Let's make it the greatest shit show ever created in human history.
We all owe our gaming life to democracy, seriously. So this is the time we have to do something for democracy. It is not about politics, it is about moral of our society.

It took me a while to recall what Vue is...

Yeah, this one got a lot of praise for cool PS4 application and DVR feature. It's sad they didn't outperform competitors. In my limited free trial experience, PS-Vue was second best network TV service next to Youtube TV. I picked up Youtube TV because Roku TV app was better, however app on PS4 was the best among all net-TV apps on any platforms at the time I tested.

It is from quite possibly the most underrated game developer, even among Japanese.
I am not talking about quality of games, actually. I am talking about consistency and sustainability of the developer.
Simply they know two things, core audience and when to stop. They know 0.5 million Japanese will buy Yakuza game once a year. So they have adjust schedule/budget for the target and have made one game per year, for more than ten years.

Nagoshi, head of the te...

Well, Steam already has the playing time stamp for each review. Why do they need to "revise" it instead of "adding"?

Frequent update of review is necessary for GaaS, obviously. However, I think "revision" of review might go too far. I think Steam should accumulate all review scores as permanent. The "Revision" of review hinder quite useful functions of the current review system actually.

For example, permanently lo...

Remember. This is the case that American company punished civilian on behalf of the dictatorship authority.

If you fail to understand the magnitude of the event, here familiar Hitler reference would help you.
People who just kept quiet for fear of Nazis are called "passive cooperators"
People who punished citizen on behalf of Nazis are called "active participants"
Both of them are cowered, understandably so. However there is a...

Of course, Blizzard is trying to protect reputation of Chinese government.

Since when defending democracy became "divisive political act"? That is the rhetoric ONLY used by Chinese government. And what the hell is "both sides"? One side is dictatorship.

I am seriously done with Blizzard.

We forgot history's lesson, and have thought that crisis on freedom was a thing of far beyond ocean.
Then, we suddenly realize that henchmen of the dictatorship government are standing right in front of our house.

This is really bad situation for all of us.
But at least now I am able to see why Hong Kong's freedom is relevant to us.

This is not a matter of politics, it is about a moral of society.

Nothing new in Sony. WWS were the most non-supportive devs in the world for VITA. Yoshida never assigned his best teams to VITA game making it, in many's opinion, one of leading cause of VITA's failure.
The same time, the success of PS4 owes a lot to Yoshida and WWS's independence.
It's a Sony's strength as a group of artisans, and weakness as a giant company.

As long as we do not spend any money on EPIC, everything stays free.

I think ND should update TLOU-MP with new locations and graphics, then re-release on PS5 as free DLC of TLOUII.
It will be a cost efficient way to entertain players who bought TLOUII for SP, and a great reward to fans who have been supporting one of the greatest forgotten MP.

You right. I just realized that currently first and last Silent Hill directors are working with Sony Studio.
Both of them are exiles from Konami. Coincident? I don't think so.

Buying the studio who made last year's best game is obviously the best way to spend money for expansion.

But this is more than that. Now, Mark Cerny is de-facto top tech executive and Naughty Dogs is the biggest power house, Sony seems perfect destination for Insomniac Games to settle in.
Everybody knows this M&A is a happy ending of one of the longest developer-publisher relationship in this industry.

Two highly original Playstation exclusive tittles and all other looking similar sequels.

It has been a reality of game industry for more than a half decade, right?
