Wasn't .hack a faux-MMO? You were a character in a game world and you could interact with other "players" (NPC's) and go on quests with the "friends" that you made in the game. What a joke...
DO NOT go into a computer store and buy a premade rig. Those are usually crappier and you are overpaying. Snoop around the internet and look for some guids but don't use just one. Mix and match to see which parts are the best and which parts are in your price range.
For the Graphics card I suggest an nVidia 9800 GTX or the ATI equivalent ATI Radeon HD 4850. Both are under $200 and they are good cards for whats on the market right now.
I did in fact!! Great game. The atmosphere was incredibly spooky. And then shredding space zombies into little tiny pieces was fun too!
There are better things to do on a Mac than play games. If I wanted to play games I'd play with my PC.
But for everything else, Mac is usually better.
I like to record my own music and I have yet to find something that bests Garage Band. iPhoto's features are incredible. Safari is stunning to look at because of it's UI but that's pretty much every part of a Mac. The list goes on and on.
I'm a little bit of a mash up of Horror hound and Hardened.
I remember playing Silent Hill 2. That game was scared me sh*tless so many times it's not even funny. And it's not the "pop out and AARGOAR" kind of scary. It's the "Wow, do I really want to go see if those are fake legs or real legs under the bed?" or "If I shine my flashlight at them would they crawl towards me?" kind of scary.

When has Valve ever f*cked up their game? Their pedigree is very high. It's unlikely that HL3 will not get some super-ultra-game award.
Half life 2 got 40+ GOTY awards. HL3 sure won't disappoint.

For me, personally, I have had problems in the past.As of a couple years ago every time I upgrade my graphics card I have bought nVidia because I haven't really experienced problems.
I'm not saying that ATI cards are for teh noobz or anything. They have great cards and they have proven it in the past and now with the 5970.
But from MY personal experience with ATI cards I have had problems.
I guess the problem with most of these cards is that if you don't have a monster rig it will bottleneck a whole lot. Most of these cards, or maybe even all of them, require a higher end PC than most people can afford. So if you're planning on buying the flagship Radeon then be prepared to drop around $1500 or more to upgrade everything else.
Also if you're only running one monitor then the HD5970 is waaay way overkill.
Not just PC complaints anymore. You should be angry too.
You honestly think Crytec is going to let other devs play with their flagship engine before they release Crysis2?
PC will probably get free DLC. Again. Too bad ME2 isn't coming to PS3, I would love to see the visuals running on a proper console.
