"You realize that many of those updates included and were specifically for removing GaaS features like the auction house, right?"
And you know what was added? Off the top of my head there was constant balance updates for classes and bosses, loot rate drop refinement, Seasonal mode, additional rifts, Treasure goblin variants, New areas for exploration, expanded existing areas, Reaper of Souls Expansion, more classes added and new items. But apparently adding all th...
You can see the accelerator and speed increase matching so I'm not sure how you're seeing this as fake. Even then theres going to be some latency due to it being streamed and it looks more reliable than previous services I've used so we'll see how it stacks up when its out but I don't have high expectations.
Why limit yourself though? There's good experiences to be found on all platforms.
If you own a digital version I would expect it to be a play anywhere title. I'd be surprised if MS deviated from that tradition with this release but better to wait for confirmation.
"all your comments are full of anger and bitterness. When people disagree with you, they are just "being sheep" and ignorant, and "cognitive dissonance" (whatever that means)."
People are being sheep because they're instantly taking the opinion of GaaS model being used in Halo as an extreme negative meanwhile they cant say why it's negative. Thats following the popular narrative which makes you a sheep. Also you not understanding basic ...
"You have to understand that the grind and loot rarity is directly tied into their mtx revenue stream."
Congratulations in not actually understanding the situation.
Try playing the game or at least educating yourself before saying something false. This is why people dont understand Biowares position because the loot rarity is in no way tied to the MT's so there is no cost to them improving the drop rates. You can't pay for loot in this g...
@deacon76
Yeah I don't think you played the game. You can get a gold pack from roughly less than 2 Warzone games. If you're not interested in some of the cards in the packs even quicker if you sell the consumables that aren't needed for standard MP.
Also game improvement updates aren't hindered by loot boxes existing. Dota 2 is a brilliant example of that with updates for newly uncovered bugs usually taking less than a day to release.
Um, we're playing games with PS1 and 2 graphics on all systems today so we should be fine. Or are you the sort of person that only buys AAA's and doesn't play anything that doesn't have an ad campaign?
@Godmars290
"Yes. Nearly. it was *removing* GaaS-like features that literally saved Diablo 3. Likewise thought For Honor was either dead or on life support thanks to whales."
Wrong on both. Diablo 3 has survived as long as it has because of the constant updates. If anything you're advocating that GaaS can be done right and wrong and when Diablo 3 launched it did a lot of it wrong. My point still stands.
For Honor is dead? ...
"when a game didn't "change every week"; and a quality product (day one) was all that mattered"
I'm sorry but lets not pretend that generations before 7 didn't have absolutely horrible games that had no business being launched when they were due to various bugs or just flat out terrible design. Lets just ignore that designing games has actually become more complex than it was, and while we're at it lets pretend expansion packs and map pac...
Has it killed Monster Hunter: World, Gears 4, Dota 2, Rainbow Six: Siege, For Honor or Diablo 3? Those are all games that kept a stronger online presence because they had a constant and steady stream of content being released. Halo 3 can be seen in some ways as an early GaaS example so I think you're being a bit hypocritical or are just ignorant as to what GaaS actually is.
It's becoming clear that people are being sheep on this issue and don't actually know wha...
Customization options aren't extra content?
I hope it brings awareness to devs on how to implement features that help people who're incapable of performing certain things in games. A simple option for example is having a setting that changes button mashing segments to a button hold for those with poor motor skills.
"I just think some young people, the video games they play, the stuff they see online, it may desensitise them to violence."
Come back when you've got proof. Desensitization is not the same as committing a crime so prove that there is a direct link or sit down and keep your mouth shut on the matter.
We have no evidence that even one system was bricked. A Sony customer service member went onto the Anthem Reddit and even said that it wasn't possible.
We have a pile of sludge with a smile as a Pokemon as well XD
When will people realise that just because you can simplify the description of a design doesn't indicate whether it's a good or bad design?
"However when you start doing ice cream cones, chandeliers, keyrings, swords and the like 5-6 gens in then I think you need to go back to the drawing board."
Very few will disagree with the ice cream cone but your disagreement with objects for ghosts is lame. Ghosts in fiction and even real world claims have inhabited objects or used the environmental surroundings to manifest. Once 3rd gen hit it was becoming clear that ghost types needed a more varied design sinc...
@PSNintyPCTri
You're correct. I apologize for stating incorrect numbers. I was looking up the other day and must have misread something so thank you for the correction.
I wouldn't be surprised either. BotW is at something like 18 million currently so imagine where SSMB will be in a similar time frame.
Also worth pointing out the Switch is 2 years old and not dead so I'm waiting for everyone who predicted it'd be dead by now to come and eat crow.
No one cares about your "what if" scenarios. Talk facts and not fiction.
