I don't think Sony was selling the PS3 at a lost with the $249 price tag but because of the price cut they where selling at a lower profit this is why MS hasn't made their price cut yet but Sony needed to make the cut to make penetrate more market share.

Sony is really losing money on their TV's even their partnership with Samsung regarding LCD manufacturing will soon come to an end.

I think even without the PS3 price cut, Sony would still be losi...

Thank you for seeing the same problem that I do with the title. I too think its misleading.

I mean I'm fine with opinions and predictions and all that but with that kind of title... I just don't know if its proper.

This is why I said this article is a potential flamebait since the opinion is pretty much one sided and does not fully tell the whole story, especially on the part of Sony.

Besides everyone copies an idea from somewhere, its how they reinvent it that defines the product.

Let me just say SE buying Eidos was the best move they made this generation. I'll tip my hats off to Wada for making that happen, even though I think its he's fault that SE is having a lackluster generation.

Biometrics <--- inspiration for the Vitality Sensor

A wise man once said:

Immature poets imitate; mature poets steal; bad poets deface what they take, and good poets make it into something better, or at least something different. The good poet welds his theft into a whole of feeling which is unique, utterly different than that from which it is torn

And no company is immune to this.

-I don't know how Sony can put the longevity of a smartphone with a power of a dedicated handheld device with the type of battery tech we have today, without the device exploding on us but I think there is a reason for Sony buying out Ericsson and ending their cellphone partnership.

If Sony added a more powerful built-in battery the cost of the PSV will increase and that would hurt the sales more than a weak battery life.

Besides we gamers are resourceful, we'll find a plug somewhere if needed. ^^

Hopefully they localize it soon but yeah a PSV version would be sweat wouldn't it. :)

Welcome to the current generation where the fans are at each other, instead of supporting one another and where the word fanboy have been given a bad name.

How can a level headed gamer not love these kind of sales number from one of the big three is beyond me. Our market is healthy and continues to move forward unlike what most detractors and so-called analyst are saying.

I think you meant PS2 back there since the PS3 is this generation.

I'm not sure where you got this assumption that the PS3 is still not profitable but its been profitable for a long time now (I believe since the Slim came out). The Playstation brand is the brightest spot that Sony is making their money on.

Well EMEAA not only covers Europe it also covers the Middle East, Asia and Africa.

Supposedly it should be selling more than the Americas because of the scope it covers but with the lack of proper infrastructure to collect data like NPD or Media Create its really hard to track and in the end all data collected will be corrected once the companies releases their SHIPPED data.

This is why SOLD data is always inaccurate.

Is that the official WW price of just Japan? Because if they converted that price from Yen then there is a good probability the real cost of those skins is lower for everyone else (and maybe will have a package option too).

Well this is online journalism and the majority has already proclaimed the 3DS to be failure.

So expect the Vita to be scrutinized the same way because its not selling like iPhone/Android smartphone numbers.

How can people still not understand the difference between a NEED and a WANT is beyond me.

I heard this story before,

They said that PC gaming was going to die when console gaming was at its peek and now look at where PC gaming is at, alive and kicking.

They said that physical media was going to die soon after DLC became popular and with the advent of cloud gaming but its still making money at the retails.

Heck the latest rumor is that the consoles are going to die out but as I see it, its making more money than the movie industry....

I think the problem with FFXII was "focus"

In all honesty Vaan was made the hero because during that time period Japan was caught up with Shonen (young men) being the most popular hero types. Which I thought was a big mistake seeing other characters are more suited to lead the game, I mean Vaan's story could still be told but being the main character? I think he is by far the weakest in any FF game I've played.

We also have Ashe who was unde...

My guess is, its probably the same issue as with Megaman Legends 1 & 2 not being available on PSN.

I would be surprise if its anything else than that.

You said it yourself no security in theory is immune to hacking, so its up to every individual to be responsible on protecting themselves first and foremost.

I wasn't immune to that PSN hack myself but they got nothing from me because there was no CC info to take (I use PSN cards) and the password of all my online accounts are different.

I learned to protect myself when my CC info was stolen when I used it online once while I was China. I sure learned my ...
