Don't you need the US PS Vita store (or any other store outside of Japan) to exist first before you can download anything from it?
Don't let the loud minority affect you, they're just all over the place. It feeds them more when you react, so the best policy is to just keep on gaming ;)

Both the PSV and the iPhone ain't going to kill each other, they may inadvertently affecting each others market (some stronger than others) but they will co-exist because there is market for both devices.
Besides they way the mobile technology is progressing, I won't be surprise if there will be a hybrid device that will combine both the strength of the smartphones and dedicated handheld gaming device into one package.
The Vita's price will come down eventually that's the nature of the console business. Even the new sku's that will most likely come out in the future will be at a lower price point.
So this situation is only temporary.

LA Noire and Heavy Rain are actually good examples of games that has tried to do what you just mentioned and sadly one payed the price for being too long to develop with the studio closing, while the other one is blasted by detractors as not being a game because it doesn't give them enough game play.
My problem with the article is why only focus on Last of Us if that was his point and not point out every other game that has come before it. ...

I think Sony had the PSV planned before they bought out Ericsson. So they had to make at least some money to offset the R&D cost of the PSV.
I for one would be surprise if we don't see a smartphone sku of the PSV (or something like it) in the future.
I want to know all the details of FFXIII-2 DLC before I buy the game because it would really be a pain if they come out with a complete edition down the line. :/

I believe its already been explained that the devastating earthquake that hit Japan a few months back caused a lot of manufacturing disruption for Sony (with a couple of their factories closing down and needing some repairs) thus Sony is unable to meet the demand of a worldwide release in time for the holidays.
That being said its good to see the 3DS making all those so-called analyst eat their words. Never underestimate the Big N.

The Vita itself will come with a physical manual. There is also a web manual and probably a built in tutorial as well.
