I know Sony is currently looking at the PS Vita as a core device and has plans to slowly bring it into the casual market around 2013 as said by SCEE CEO Jim Ryan but if Sony does not catch the imagination of the casual consumers, then they will just be wasting the potential of the PS Vita.
Sony really needs to advertise and emphasize what the PS Vita can do, aside from the core games that will come out.

I don't think the PSV is geared towards the casual market, just by reading the statement from Sony's SCEE CEO Jim Ryan, they seem to know their market will be the core audience with the PS Vita and plans to move into the younger audience in about 2yrs.
So this talk of the smartphone buyer buying a PS Vita is a moot discussion because even Sony admits that it ain't the market for the PSV at this time.

Looking at the numbers looks like this kinds of sales drop ain't uncommon in Japan after the 2nd week.
Then again a lot of people loves to jump on the doom and gloom bandwagon these days.

I agree about having ebook support for the PSV. Sony already has an ebook line known as the PRS (Portable Reader System), so this should be doable.
They should also bring back the comic reader that the PSP had on to the PSV as well.
I think that's the problem the launch titles are geared towards the western audience not the Japanese one. ^^;;

What these companies really should do is quit the association or have the association remove their support for SOPA.
And SOPA is not the only bill to worry about there is also PIPA which is the Senate version of SOPA (SOPA is a House bill)
