3DS didn't fail at $249, there wasn't enough games for a long period of time to entice gamers to buy it.
Heck! even when the rumors that the 3DS only cost $101 to manufacturer the biggest concern by general public was the lack of a 2nd analog stick.
Only now when Ninty dropped the 3DS price to attract gamers (while the games are just on their way) did this price thing became an issue.

I think the article is flawed because Kinect is an exclusive hardware that added a lot of functionality and games only on the Xbox 360.
So yes exclusives does matter and surprise! The Xbox 360 actually just proved it not the other way around.
And by the start of the new generation you bet that the Big 3 will be lining up a lot of exclusives because that will be the ones that will separate them from the competition.

Well I think its right for the writer to call out those supposedly professional gaming journalist because they way they are making articles you think they want for the dedicated handheld gaming market to fail.
I think the article is fine and at this point in time, all the detractors can do is look back at what the 3DS missed out on because rig...
I believe that is the reason too. I don't know how it will be successful but I think Sony believes it will slow it down or if the system is indeed hacked then they'll still make money off somewhere before 3rd party manufacturers gets into the action and bring the prices down.
And what can we do this is a business not a charity when Sony doesn't make money people flame them, when they try to make money its still the same. Go figure~
