...but Lost Planet is an ass-kicking, action-packed shooter, with the some of the best mech action ever put in a game. The boss battles are more epic than any game Capcom has done....and they pretty much INVENTED the boss battle.
The reviewers that gave LP anything below an 8 (which is still too low, IMO), are f*cking retards. I've actually enjoyed it more than Gears, in many ways.

1.) Gears of War IS NOT a FPS....learn the f*cking difference.
2.) Saying you prefer a FPS on PC is so cliche it's pitiful. Let me guess: "Mouse + keyboard rules!!!" ? Give me a break. Sitting on my leather couch in front of my 55" Sony Wega with a wireless controller, kicks the dog sh!t out of being hunched over a keyboard, in front of a 19-24" monitor.

No, I'M not in denial, but YOU certainly are. For someone who claims to be a car "enthusiast", you certainly don't know jack about them, or realistic racing. All tweaks aside, you CAN NOT have a "realistic racing simulation" without wrecks...it's what makes the sport as exciting and popular as it is. The fact that at any moment, the slightest miscalculation, or mechanical failure, could lead to a deadly pile-up or chain reaction...

....but only from a visual stance. If the gameplay is still solid (the first Sly Cooper was pretty fun) it can overcome the "kiddy"/comic book look. If the gameplay is mediocre/bad (Ultimate Spider-man sucked balls......and don't try to deny it), cell shading only amplifies the game's suckiness.
This game has a great chance of being the former, rather than the latter....but only time will tell. ;)

....SALES do. Lost Planet is on course to match the sales record set by Gears of War. And, truthfully, I think it's an overall better game than Gears. Reviewers are typically fickle, inconsistent people; only a fool pays much attention to movie or game reviews enough to determine a purchase/rental. Lost Planet is the most action-packed, intense shooter I've played IN YEARS, and the mech-play is better than either of the Mechassault games.
