Watch the 3rd video. See how the enemy charges in, trying to take the player down (the player doesn't shoot - maybe the enemy guesses he has run out of ammo?), and backs off as the player gets out his pistol & starts shooting at him, then waiting at the door for the player to poke out.
Bad AI?
Some of it doesn't look great, but I'm sure by release it will all be polished. That's all it is - polish is needed to fix glitches. Because whilst visual glitches like the...
Silogon I don't think hardware can have much of an impact on gameplay. Even games with hundreds of enemies/things happening on-screen could be achieved on PS1 using sprites to represent everything. The biggest leap was from 2D to 3D - but now we ARE seeing a change (in a small way) in terms of the kind of calculations these machines are able to perform; real-time physics becoming a gameplay mechanic for example. Now I'm not saying it's going to be a hit, but the game "Hydrophobia" i...
It's 4/9 so that's closer to 44.4/100
But still terrible :P
Silogon you can hardly say that games in general have changed much at all. Most games are rehashed versions of what we've seen before. I'm glad for the few titles that are pushing the envelope, though, and we've seen some truly innovative titles this gen.
The only new direction that RPGs seem to be going in is real time action :(
Pretty much a flop.
There are much better RPGs out at the moment so people should leave this one out of their library.
It won't improve the PSN service in terms of what you can do outside Home. I.e. it will still be missing cross-game voice chat, game invites and such. This is because these features are controlled on a game-by-game basis and aren't standardised through use of APIs (which certainly didn't exist at launch).
What it will do (or at least, is trying to do) is make PSN feel like more of a community; you can actually meet people then launch a game with them. It should feel like you're p...
No we knew ages ago that they'd given it a 6/10 - the online review is a slightly edited version of the review in their Magazine.
Most of Edge's scores were a joke in that issue - 6/10 for CoD:WaW, games like Quantum of Solace getting 5/10 - but that's nearly the same score as R2, other games getting better than R2 which were also ridiculous.
Then they had the cheek to give L4D a 9/10 - which is fine in and of itself, but when you give R2 a 6/10 which has a similar (...
Just play it through your microphone and annoy everybody with it :D
Does R2 work with game launching from Home? That's awesome if true.
Jenzo it will never be finished. They will keep adding features as they go - after release. OK so it's a little bare-bones at the moment, and I kind of expected more features at launch, but it will continue to improve and expand over time.
Home has a lot of potential. If they continue to support it and keep adding great features it could become great. Let's hope those features come in thick and fast :)
They have expanded on their section from their Magazine review regarding the online, I think.
But it still barely gets a mention.
Their main complaint(!!) is that they've focused on bringing us more players, more content and bigger enemies!
"Not just bullets, either, but the wild range of beams, fireballs and energy pellets that make fighting the Chimera such a chore."
So basically it's a chore to fight the Chimera because they sho...
Campaign mode not overly scripted?
SP graphics *much* better than MP graphics?
"It's like seeing Surface Tension in HL1 for the first time again"?
Holy crap!
But Resistance 2 definitely deserved that 6. I mean, look at the slew of magazines and websites who agree with a 6/10 for R2! It must be such an awful..... oh - what's that? There were barely ANY reviews that gave it less than 8/10? It's sitting on an average of nearly 9/10? SURELY everyone else is wrong! And all those people enjoying the game are wrong as well!
Edge's PS3 reviews are a joke.
Ooh ooh ooh I want in!
"You must be a resident of North America."

This is the kind of community fun I hope Home can bring.
Is that music being played from a playlist in Home or was that being played through the mic?
Hmm guess I was misinformed. My point still stands though. It's not in-keeping with the kind of games people play on the console. It still baffles me even though they managed to patch some games to integrate the Avatars. I hate the way the success of the Wii is dictating what other console manufacturers are doing - i.e. moving to capture the Wii's audience.
The addition of avatars is what really baffles me.
Is there any particular point in avatars? At least with Miis they are used in some of the games. But avatars seem to be aimed at children - I mean can you imagine your avatar running around in Gears 2? Why have they added this feature?
But won't it arrive on the 17th? At least that was the _other_ rumour that was floating around - it was said on "On the spot" that it was releasing on the 17th...
Oh well with all this waiting I shouldn't be concerned about 3 days ;)
PS3 Fanboy confirmed that there is an embargo on KZ2 single player, that will end in December, here:

So yeah, more info in December.
