This is painful... if eurogamer had given out all the keys (and had had better servers lol) then we wouldn't have any of this. If I hadn't got in, I'd have accepted that I didn't get in. As it is, I don't know if I can get in and there's sites crashing all over the shop just because they're giving out 200 keys...
Good. No guns. Excellent. I HATE fantasy games that use guns alongside swords, mainly because, if you slice someone with a sword, fair enough, they might not die, you might just cut them. If you shoot someone in the face, they don't really have a chance of surviving. A gun is so much more powerful than a sword, yet in games that include both the sword is generally made more powerful just because it's short-range only. Guns have no place in the diablo universe.
This is like co-op, except without progression or story. I don't see how it can be any better than a co-op mode.
Is it true that COD4 has no bots in split-screen, and doesn't let you play online split-screen? How can it be fun with just 2-4 players? (Mind you I also wonder how anyone can play it with a 16-player limit).
Bots are lost as well, it seems. Just when the technology gets powerful enough to allow more intelligent bots, they take them out of almost every game.
No it's not true - split-screen co-op is confirmed for resistance 2, you just can't play it on the single-player campaign, because there's a dedicated co-op campaign. It's very likely there will be split-screen online co-op, whilst this hasn't been confirmed it's been hinted at by the devs.
I don't EVER remember them announcing that it would be a download. They always talked up the fact it was "on PSN", and I think that's where the confusion arises. It's integrated with PSN, it's not going to be released on it. They never said that.

"What are you doing thor?"
*THUD* *THUD*
"Oh just putting up a sign."
DO NOT FEED THE TROLL
"There you go!"
In one of the Ratchet games there was a world you could go to which had all sorts of developer tools and interesting bits? There was a gun firing and you could change the particle effects, there was a test area you could jump around. BUT there was also an area with a 1-metre square area of water. That behaved as water did when you walked on it, it rippled and moved up and down when you splashed it. Now with Resistance 2, they're just using that technology! But the power of the cell has allowe...
OMG that's awesome! The possibilities with this game are endless!
If you can imagine a game like mario kart, or crash team racing, for the weapon pickups/speed boost icons, minus the bad weapon balancing, plus a huge amount of speed, plus racing that takes a LOT of skill, i.e. perfect cornering, plus just a general ton of fun and excitement and monotone voices exclaiming
CONTENDER ELIMINATED
you're just about there. Seriously buy this game.
The game is mostly racing i.e. if you're a much faster racer than everyone else you will win ...
Oh yeah I still think SSHD is a must buy!
Look at the demand for this. If it were a free download on the PS store, you'd have hundreds of thousands if not > 1,000,000 people downloading it.
a bullet in their heads about this.
I'd like to be a part of the beta but I don't want to have to keep checking each and every site, signing up for them just because they're using us and our interest in LBP.
Yeah but Wipeout HD >>>> Super Stardust HD, and I think Super Stardust is amazing.
I was just playing this split screen, and although it seems like only 30fps (in split-screen) all the detail's still there and it's sooo much fun (not for my brother though he didn't beat me once :)
Timing the speed boost right. I don't know exactly what those tracks are in warped but in lots of tracks the best place to boost is right near the end, reason being there's always a straight where the starting grid is without any speed boosts on it. In other tracks, the best place to do a speed boost can be where you can get some air, and a barrel roll in. Experiment by using the speed boost in different places and see how your lap times vary. Usually if you can do a speed boost into a jump a...
I'm not sure about what the pitch-shifting actually does, but I do know you shouldn't do it because it means you then can't steer as well, UNLESS you set it to sixaxis pitch control.
Full sixaxis control is actually great fun (especially split-screen), because it doesn't disable the analogue sticks. It just helps you turn the tightest turns better.
Learn the tracks is my first tip.
Don't, whatever you do on zones, do a barrel roll. It decreases your ship energy...
Silogon, the devs said that they tried a full 3-D creation just as a prototype and it just didn't work. I can tell you some of the problems:
In LBP you can add objects together and make holes in objects etc. These are known as "boolean operations". Even in professional software, boolean operations are not always stable and you can end up with missing polygons/extra thin polygons/polygons that stretch to infinity/general bad geometry.
Another problem is that...
I've got all gold on elite difficulty on the first 2 events, I've unlocked meltdown and I have got a medal in every cell in the first 5 events. I think, at the moment, the online mode is actually quite easy, I've never been up against anyone who's completely owned me.
I've put on some DnB mixes on the soundtrack, some of the tracks are 2 hours long, in total must be about 6-7 hours of music and I've heard tracks repeat themselves 3 times already. The custom music is so fantastic;...
Kinda sucks that the only two things this game was bringing new to the table (destructible environments and a first person cover system) aren't going to be in the multiplayer game. I've seen a couple of the multiplayer levels, and I've seen thumbnails for all 8 of them, and they seem to be set in the same area. As multiplayer components usually draw from the single player components, I can see that as pretty as killzone 2 looks, the entire game will be set in areas that look identical to the ...
