Fable 2? snort.
Banjo Kazooie?
Oh Gears of War2.
Is that THE AAA you were talking about? What else did MS show? Lips? one vs. 100?
Where's this brilliant strategem you're talking about free3sixty? Unlike the rest of us, your fanboy spinning only works on you.
Don't be silly, being firsts has its major advantages. Last year MS took alot of the wind out of Sony with the FFXIII announcement. Even though MS only had 1 major blockbuster title to show (Geow2), the news was enough. If I were Sony, I would want to be first this year, and just crush the competition with available upcoming titles and titles planned. Sony must be really confident though this year if they still want to go last. MS wouldn't have the breadth of titles this year to respond to...
Sony's waiting for MS to show their hand this time around. I think its a great strategy considering that Sony has already hinted at 4 phyre engine titles, katamari title, fat princess, and a new Ratchet & clank. Leaving the big guns to crush the competition and keep the information fresh.
Personally, though i think MS's lineup might be weaker this year. MS is trying to buy time to bring more substantial stuff to the table. There could have been plenty of "teaser"...
So want this game now. Very very clever designs indeed!
Looking forward to checking out this title. Seems like it will be a strong contender to Heavy Rain in terms of story. From the article though, it does say that the developer controls how the weather is going to be... meaning either weather will change depending on what area you go to or weather will be a certain way during triggered scenarios. Either way, will be interesting to take a look at.
It isn't a boss fight. Didn't you see the titans in the first preview of gow3? The whole map IS the titan.
look... if you don't like to ride the cyclops... then don't ride it and kill it instead? Isn't that the point of having a choice? jeezus you guys come up with the lamest excuses:
@happyface the walking animation is perfectly fine. The cyclops has short stubbly legs and it's shifting, shuffling, stumbling, etc.
your version is definitely better.
doubtful. kz2 outdid crysis 1 in a number of areas. 7.1 uncompressed surround sound, number of lighting in-game, mo-cap on almost all the characters, more volumetric smoke and smoke physics. Crysis has the upperhand in more areas obviously but we're talking about a $399 console vs. a "then" $1500 pc. Death is alot prettier in kz2 than in crysis.
yes i noticed that as well. it maybe the different stages of development each version is at. I think most of the shooting was done on the 360 because it was probably easier to bring over in-game assets from the PC version of Crysis to the 360 than the ps3.
From my perspective Cry Engine3 does plant life better than anything I have seen out there... except for Crysis 1. However, lighting is a whole nother story. It doesn't have the scale or # of lights that the kz2 seems to be able to support. Finally for any game using the Cry Engine 3 to try to beat KZ2 will be very expensive. I'm talking alot of mo-cap sessions and animation blending. That polish is what makes kz2 standout from ANY shooter out right now. Guerilla got a budget that outsr...
hahah... Walther. Tell me your arguments again and lets compare multiplatform vs. exclusives.
If multiplatforms are so great why are there more people playing exclusives comparatively? Why do magazine writers consistently proclaim this or that exclusive as the "best looking game we've seen on this console?" Technology just isn't pushed to the edge on a multiplat that any exclusive will get.
Multiplats are middle-of-the-road titles when it comes to the tec...
Theoretically the difference could just be between 2x MSAA and Quicunix (on the ps3). That would explain the blur differences in the stills.
Can you read up on some tech articles before you pull the beads out of your ass?
Ninja Gaiden 2 X360 version ran at 585p?
You are an Xbox360 hater don't you.
The game runs on my Samsung 32" LCD upscaled at 1080p
its a 720/1080i/1080p
But anyway im 100% sure you never played the X360 version(Not in a LCD HDTV aparently) and you are just repeating what some other ignorant spread on net. Grow up azz!
No he is not an xbox hater. Upscaled is NOT ...
Unfortunately, i disagree as well. This engine doesn't even look as good as the first cry engine. The last part of the video with the bridge exploding is a direct challenge to kz2's demo i think... but it doesn't have any volumetric smoke or anything. It's just an explosion. No rocking of the screen or anything.
but it isn't.
agreed. the foliage is definitely impressive, but the graphics look only marginally better than far cry 2.
Who knows wait until console crysis comes i guess.
This Cry Engine 3 looks like it compromised big time in order to fit on consoles.
The lighting isn't anywhere near Crysis 1's level on the PC.
The rural building polygons look about the same as Far Cry2's and the urban city looks like it could've come out of gears of war 2. It's got that hyper-realistic plastic feel to it.
The landscape has interactive plant detail but look at how far out it actually extends.... My guess is we can only see foliage in our immed...
I think the fact that you can't even come up with one thing that MS has done to benefit computing, speaks volumes about a company that looks no further than their bottom-line. Great way of defending your favorite company.
MGS4 wasn't my favorite game this gen, but I liked it in the way I appreciate fine wine. It had a complexity about it with various shades of flavor and nuance that I don't see in many games. While it wasn't my favorite, it was delicious. Most of the bestsellers like kz2, geow2, left4dead, resistance 2 are like soda pop comparatively. Lot of upfront bang but little substance afterwards.
