Frankly, the fact that all of you Window BSOD trolls immediately post your hate rants after an article is posted on a "Fudzilla.com website" proves more to me that you are less secure with your computing platform than I am with mine.
Perhaps next time you should let the Apple lovers come in first and defend so you have some ammo. For me, seeing all these sad envious posts really makes me feel good... Nah, I really don't care, but you guys get the picture.

"Sudden Adult Death Syndrome"
Is that the name they give these days when they have no *cough* "bu11sh1t" *cough* idea, how a person collapses?
Why does a currently non-explainable death need to be labeled like that? It sounds so idiotic.
I disagree with your last point dcbronco in lumping MS with "other" big corporations. Why? Because we have MS losing 2 major monopoly anti-trust lawsuits from two different governments. That's like being registered as a repeat offender in my book. Something I don't see in Sony's, Apple's or other big corporations' records.
There is bad.. and then there is clear recurring abusive behavior.
that might look fun for a 13 year old. It's mindless destruction for some people who want a little bit more content.
There is a CLEAR difference between buying exclusivity vs. providing incentive. In the former, you have MS paying UPFRONT money to retain exclusivity. In the Latter, you have Sony giving a free discount on development tools, publishing etc,. THAT IS A MAJOR DIFFERENCE.
This article is trying to claim what Sony and MS is doing is Apples to Apples. Unfortunately, that is not the case. Giving money and giving a discount are TWO VERY DIFFERENT THINGS.
Great points made Jake. I agree wholeheartedly. An unbiased article is one that provides both positive and negative points in a non-opinionated manner.
XboxOz360, what have you to say after being clearly shown your article is a one-sided opinion piece? I would like to further add this argument to the discussion:

One of the points that I think is being missed here is that prior to this generation, Sony didn't have to resort to "incentivizing" potential studios. Microsoft decided to play hardball with cash and I think it is only fair that Sony is "allowed" to compete without having to call them hypocrites.
There IS a difference between incentive and solicit/bribing. Sony isn't soliciting, therefore, they can call it an incentive.
Hey if you don't like my comment, u have every right to ignore me. The fanboy pest started with pathetic sales numbers, as if we all play with 5 million copies of geow2.
And frankly, i stand by my statement that this title looks better than anything I've seen this console gen. And that's AFTER looking at what's currently offered on 'next-gen' consoles. If you want to disagree with me on that, feel free, but don't start acting like you've never made an opinionated statement that...
This looks to me like when I watched the commercials for Saints Row 2. All destruction and no real substance. Sorry but these ARE the same guys who did Hulk Ultimate Destruction...
With a good sandbox game trailer, you should be cutting a little into story, characters, environments and scenarios before hitting action sequences. The fact that they jump straight to action... kind of suggests the actual game is a little bit shallow.
If you mean mindless destructive fun... then i agree, but I don't define fun by the # of people you can blow up. I actually do like a little more story and consequences involved.
feels very aracadey to me..leaning toward that being a bad thing. The debris that you blow up disappear before they hit the ground... literally. That and I just don't know any gun that would make a person bounce AND fly 6 stories into the air. The soldier deception is pretty cool but if i were in that military, I would identify b4 shooting... Or better yet... look at what my IFF sensor reads. Isn't that standard for all military these days to differentiate friend from foe? Finally there is...
yeah go ask their fanbase that. that's why bot have sold 5 million copies everyone know you FANBOYS HAVE TO BASH A XBOX GAME TO MAKE YOURSELVES FEEL BETTER.
... well if ur comparing numbers the Gran tourismo franchise has sold over 50 million units which translates to 10 mill per each iteration.
What's your point?
I'm glad you enjoy sales numbers comparisons and all.. but lets face it, this game blows out anything the 360 currently has so far or whatever's upco...
They've really upped the animation on this sequel. Omg, short of the slightly funky powerslide, everything was superlative... Yes superlative. The reason why i loved the first game was how organic the movement seemed for both enemy and the main character compared to other TPS like geow1/2 or wanted. At first I thought Uncharted's animation jerks were more framerate issues but this you tube vid really demonstrates how much more attention to detail they've put into it this time around.

I follow gamasutra.com more but you brought up a good point. I don't think MS gives open book to how they determine exclusivity but I am sure it involves full publishing rights as well as some clause to buy up the IP and less a full IP buy. Couldn't find too much beyond muck like this which really reinforces my beliefs:
Microsoft Gets Into The IP Propaganda Game

Apparently it's not just the MPAA who's trying to brainwash ...
Hey piratethom, love your posts and all but I don't want to expose myself next to you. Sorry just not my style :P "bear" not bare"
that and "loosing" drive me up the wall (losing or lose not loose)
no it isn't. MS retains IP rights afterwards for some of the smaller outfits. It's much shadier than just lending you money for one given project.
Let's re-read the article again please people.
When MS wants exclusivity, they want full publishing rights as well as the IP (ie buy you out). This means that whoever goes through this deal gives up their intellectual property, ownership, and work. It means that MS has exclusivity on all properties for sequels if the game is a success. Unless it is a giant IP where they can only by timed exclusivity
Sony just wants the publishing exclusiving on PSN. There is no taki...
I don't think MS is capitulating their whole line up just because of Sony, but I still believe it will be a weaker showing this year for the Windows maker.
Valves games prior to halflife 2 are extremely polished. valve games afterwards? ehh... not so much. Left4dead is fun... but it looks like a half-life2 mod, it's story is nonexistant, and it's far more repetitive than Valve's previous games.
I disagree completely with your assessment. RE5 is like a dry spartan environment with only one major thing going for it... high quality models. There is no weather modeling in RE5, the mocap animation is limited and seems largely relegated to the CG side. The movements are jerky and extremely awkward with regards to rotating from side to side. The gameplay... ooof... needs work big time. You get zombies that run at you and then stop and amble around after they get close... retarded.
