The odds of no cost affiliated with virtual console seems small at best. Physical media isn't going to work because of the lack of a disc drive. Switch also containing a different cart compared to 3DS doesn't help either.
On top of the profits remasters/"classics" make.
Contact your bank. CD Keys didn't freeze your bank account. Your bank did.
Ask Sony as it likely has to do with Sony not wanting to work with third party retailers. As the retailer would get a cut.
They should be developing for the X first and foremost then scaling down to the One. Doing so will yield greater results versus the other way around.
@ILostMyMind: Yes, Microsoft does allow physical titles to be used via backward compatibility
"The digital titles that you own and are part of the Back Compat game catalog will automatically show up in the “Ready to Install” section on your Xbox One. For disc-based games that are a part of the Back Compat game catalog, insert the disc and the console will begin downloading the game to your hard drive. After the game has downloaded to your hard drive, users will still n...
@KwietStorm:
1) Many Sony diehards insist backwards compatibility isn't needed or welcome
2) Sony can make more money by charging again
3) Sony doesn't want to admit inferiority in the backwards compatible department by lacking physical options
If it came with a 4K Blu-Ray as you originally stated they'd be promoting what the competition can do that they don't. Or pushing users to buy an additional piece of equipment for an extra cost.
Just saying. One is free and usable not only by the console it's included with. The other is free and not even capable of execution in the PlayStation family.
It's like buying a car, receiving a key, then being told the rest of the car isn't af...
So Sony gave you something you can't even play on the Pro and you're complaining about getting content you can actually use on Xbox One X or Xbox One S?
Forza Horizon 3 January 15th

Yet the Xbox One S is also capable of 4K streaming like the Pro and One X, something the base PS4 doesn't do.
How dare Microsoft give people the option to do digital or physical rather than limiting to one while keeping the price low. /s
Yet Xbox One S includes a 4K Blu-Ray drive and costs less than the PS4 Slim
It's backward compatible on Xbox One
@2pacalypsenow: If you recall correctly Sony championed the idea of "Boost Mode" after the PS4 Pro launched with no such feature for previous titles. That's because Sony didn't build the Pro with previous PS4 games in mind. Also why Boost Mode makes some titles unstable instead of better as the warning you get from Sony itself says is possible.

So you don't recall the Yellow Light of Death on PS3 or the pulsing blue light on PS4?
Joycons disconnecting or systems warping in the case of Switch?
The game launched over a year ago and there's a newer version of Forza to work on, one that already has Xbox One X enhancements.
The odds of Sony putting in a CPU/GPU in 2019 that comes in 2019 is astronomically small. The costs to Sony along with the consumer would be atrocious.
"Component-wise, Scorpio will feature a 2.5-inch 1 TB hard drive that offers a “50 per cent increase in bandwidth,” reports Digital Foundry."

I think we have different definitions of splitting content.
What you suggested would leave content on the dock that then would not be able to be used solely by the handheld as the content isn't on the handheld in any form. Effectively meaning you'd be tethered to the dock to use the content stored there. When disconnected the handheld would effectively not be able to use that content.
My solution would allow the content to be stored on an external...
I think that's why it's not a very viable solution. You'd be splitting content between the dock and the handheld.
Allowing external drives would be a better start.
Not how it works. The display on the portable is 720 max.
