Not entirely true...
"Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime said that Wii U can support at least two controllers. This was confirmed by the 2012 E3 Conference. However, Japanese honcho Satoru Iwata clarified that while the Wii U could technically support more than one controller, it would be too expensive to sell the touchscreen controller separately and that developers would assume only one touchscreen controller per console (Source: Engadget).

They're already doing all of that so without something new where's the growth?
And before some idiot says it, Vita has Cross Game Chat. Great games and online play is already there with both PS3 and Vita plus the great games part extended back to PS2 with even limited titles there supporting online play.
As posted above those titles you purchase via PSN have the software needed for emulation of the title built into them, not built into the system.
Otherwise by your logic these PSP titles are supported by the PS3 as well, which they aren't. What is actually happening is hackers are altering the ISOs to execute like a Mini title, masking them to the system as such.
In other words these hackers are using the same process for PSP games that Sony uses for PS2 ...
They don't all have them built in. You can find proof of this by taking a PS3 with no BC and examining the locations you can save, IE PSOne & PS3 save files located under game then recognizing that there isn't one allocated for PS2. From there purchase a PS2 Classic title off of the Playstation Store & download. PS2 save locations get created AFTER you load that first PS2 Classic up for the first time.
The PS3 isn't gaining PS2 BC because of buying the tit...
"From what I can see on the screenshot, the test data is not directly available on the regular “retail” PSN servers, but on the servers used by Sony internally for development or for QA (internal beta tests, if you prefer)"
... So you're irked because N4G mods don't approve unofficial source news?
Do people here understand journalism? N4G would rather have remotely professional articles at least based on truth, not Globe material. I for one agree.
Otherwise I could be like
"According to one of my many, many sources insertcompanynamehere has announced they intend to release new consoles yearly, banking off of you idiots who just have to have that new...

ND hasn't had the rights to it or Spyro for some time now.
Activision owns the rights to Crash
Oh, can't forget this. It's precious to see so many bitch about EA over every move they make but then when the topic of COD comes up they seem to instantly forget EA publishes the Battlefield series they like to hype up so much. Never mind the fact that EA does something similar, releasing Battlefield every other year with that filler title Medal of Honor filling the next, very similar to how Modern Warfare and Black Ops are published...
Year after year EA goes out to...
@Rockmanll7: Most only open these to
1) Bitch about "campers" in COD because not everybody feels the need to book around a map a million times hoping to pick up that shock kill
2) Bitch about the "run and gunners" that don't feel the need to just sit and spray their semi auto sniper rifles from half way across the map
3) Troll a game that many even admit they don't play and haven't played in some time, because ...
... unless you want to learn about guns?
Why would it? PS3 hasn't been playing second fiddle to 360 when it comes to COD. The differences between the PS3 version and 360 version have narrowed recently with additions like dual PSN sign ins added to the PS3 version. The only real difference remaining now is 360 getting DLC 30 days before anybody else which isn't a huge deal since PS3 has received every bit of the DLC the 360 has, meaning we're getting the same experience there.
Call me even crazier but then why wait to release the WiiU version when the system is out now?
Aren't the other two systems not out with the potential to not be released until after COD: Ghosts releases? Also in the case of solely wanting to double dip, why not do it to Nintendo owners also since The WiiU version would already support the Wii controllers like Black Ops 2 does, meaning it could come to the current gen Wii...

It extends beyond the right of choice.
Or isn't it possible that preorders also give info to publishers/developers as to what kind of numbers to expect? Ya know, so the whole shortage thing could be avoided in the first place based off of statistics?
"GameStop PowerUp Rewards members get the exclusive Call of Duty®: Ghosts themed weapon camo for use in Call of Duty®: Black Ops II!"
The camo isn't for Ghosts...
Just goes to show that people here on N4G would rather troll than get their shit straight, even when that info is right in front of their faces.
I got my email for it yesterday. While the gesture and the fact that they want to raise awareness for the game is nice, it's just not for me right now at least. Got a lot of other stuff going on in my life right now so can't pick up as many new games as I'd like...
You know what though? I'm sure somebody out there right now is enjoying it, so...

There isn't really a "misconception" though. Iwata himself has pointed out shortcomings of the system and the problems they already face with it.
Again, Nintendo themselves KNEW from the start what'd be required to run the system & controller, two things damning the WiiU. They also KNEW that the system would be limited in terms of multiplayer functionality before the system even launched. They KNEW that their new gamepad would be expensive, eating up nea...
Everybody doesn't have a Wii you know.
Plus why would you waste $40 to buy another console for something that you could potentially do for free? Just saying...
Also want to add that consumers wouldn't want to have one more justification for owning a WiiU right now. That'd be just silly. /s
If under warranty still it is possible to get a replacement. If you're asking for down the line though,
"GamePads are currently only sold as standalones in Japan, where they retail for 13,440 Yen / $160.(Excluding Taxes) A replacement GamePad ordered from Nintendo (to replace a broken one) currently goes for $140. To repair one outside of Warranty costs $90."
