How can they say it's their favorite game of all time and give it a 3/4... What are they reserving 4/4 for?

I agree, the cutscenes are what makes the experience what it is, and when they're as seamless as MGS4 it makes you really feel like you're interacting with a sick ass movie. Fight between Raiden and Vamp (the first one) .... Easily the sickest cutscene in videogame history (in my opinion of coarse).
It really does seem like with the overwhelming success and praise of MGS4 has com alot of PS3 trashing, and as Bullet said, bringing back old issues as far back as launch. It's true though, who cares about first or third party as long as the games are good, the rest will come in time.
These articles are lame. They speak as if they're speaking for all of us, as if ps3 owners got screwed... Not the case, regardless of the nasty sh!t he can think of to say about the company (yes sony and msoft have both made mistakes) I've never met a ps3 owner who is unhappy with their situation. In my opinion it's the best option there is out there for a console right now. I have no respect for unbalanced articles that trash any system, say both sides of the story, the good with the bad.....
I'd prefer a system that was built properly from day one than a system that has trophies from day one but has a failure rate worse than any console in history. I would also rather a system that promises to provide these features and more, and not charge me to use it. I would also prefer a Ps3 because it has better exclusives and it's future is a hundred times brighter than the 360. I'm no fanboy, if the 360 had have provided what I wanted in a system, not just which system had certain feature...
Yeah I don't know, sounds like a slippery slope to me, it will only get worse and worse till it's blatant and in bad taste. Nothing like a cheesy ad to rip you out of the gaming experience. I don't think turning games into commercials is the way to go.

Gears 2 has some serious competition, with and MGS4 pretty much setting a new standard and R2 coming soon. It'll be interesting to see how they all measure up.
It hasn't ruined anything... We need guys like Kojima to set the bar high... To define what next gen should be, a true artist making his game a true work of art... otherwise we'd have the EA's of the world giving us the bare minimum to get by and maximize profits without anyone in charge who gives a sh!t about anything but the almighty dollar. I am grateful for people like Kojima who take pride in their work and settle for nothing but the best possible.
My thoughts exactly, I'm gonna have to wait for games like GoW3, or R2... And they have alot to live up to. I've never seen a game receive such praise from critics and gamers alike, especially not hype and praise that was so well deserved.
I disagree, you had the choice to play it stealth or shooter, that's whayt I loved so much, made it much better than previous titles because of it. I think having the option made it much more realistic and engaging.
I think gamespy is reaching for fault to avoid giving a perfect score.
This game has set a new standard... It really shows what the PS3 is made of. There is nothing on the market right now that can even touch this game. I was looking forward to MGS4, but I had no idea it was gong to blow me away quite like it did. At the risk of sounding like I work for Sony, straight up ,this game is reason alone to own a PS3... No one who plays video games should miss out on this one.

I totally agree, especially with the part about comparing random things you can do in gta like shop for clothes etc to core gameplay aspects. The trailer was in bad taste and can't have done much good... Not to mention how much GTA has done for the genre, regardless of how they or anyone else feels about GTA IV, Saints Row wouldn't exist without it.
Picking my copy up in 3 hours and I can honestly say not once since the game was announced to this very moment have I been concerned about installing the game... In fact I've been looking forward to it. Can't Fcking wait.
They take what they can get. Maybe it's just me but it seems like Microsoft takes considerably more shots at Sony than vice versa.
Maybe, but this could be very damaging to EA, a high profile case where they are fighting against the people they're selling games to. These people represent gamers and probably an opinion the majority of gamers would agree with, so EA will have to handle this carefully. It might be beneficial for them to not trample over these gamers and to cut some sort of deal that makes them look good in the eyes of their customers. Just a theory.

That's ridiculous, there are plenty of movies with the same name from different times. I'm sure if a movie for GTA was green lighted the title of the screenplay wouldn't be the issue.
