The very real dangers of smoking a crack pipe whilst still making executive decisions in a large multinational.

Konami was such a boss in the early to mid 2000's, their gaming portfolio then was the envy of many. With Silent Hill 2/3/The Room and Metal Gear Solid 2/3 amongst others it seemed they were unstoppable.

The one that looked ten years old?

The entirety of all the games campaigns were perfectly playable. The multiplayer was dire, not "it" the products scope and breadth wholesale. There was still plenty on offer and it was a huge undertaking involving multiple studios.

No remaster like that has ever been created before or after, funny how with the uncharted collection they just carved out the multiplayer entirely. There won't be any patches to update it's multiplayer performance EVER. Is that be...

Metro Redux stands head and shoulders above most and in line with the very best.

The Halo MCC gave the games a huge boost in visual fidelity and campaigns performance and eventually multiplayer performance too. It is really nice as they also added ODST for everyone's purchase cheaply to be able to dip in and out of the Halo's.

Uncharted collection is equally essential for any fan of the series. The worst redux of all, although it never claimed to be one ...

Probably true, wasn't Rainbow Six Siege a recent exception though?

Realistically, considering the cost of developing a game these days is it any wonder there are few true exclusives. Bankruptcy is no plan for game developers that I know of. Multi platform releases are often a necessity.

Does anyone with a purpose built gaming pc ever really bother with consoles though? A high end PC trounces them usually by a very wide margin.

I think the real question is, even if it was on pc-could you build a quiet, competent and capable pc from scratch including the OS and peripherals that matched the Xbox One's performance?

I suspect that the answer is No. Same reason that I would probably buy a 360/PS3/4 again before I built a dedicated gaming pc. PS4 purchase would be the first time for myself.

Are PC game releases counted as remasters? compared to their console counterparts I suppose you can do lots with the right hardware and the modding potential, obviously the few diabolical ports with standing.

I have been really pleasantly surprised by how much you can crank up older PC games, particularly with the control panel features for a new Nvidia GPU. 1080P native at 60fps, 60hz is very nice with near maximum details. My HDTV being the limiting factor in pushing higher...

Haha, my thoughts exactly

There's always Doom 3/BFG, Resi HD/Resi 0 and some other decent games out there if you need that "classic" horror fix.

Dayum, that's cheap. Where are these deals when I needed them haha.

A locked 30fps at 60hz or higher is fine. Any frame rate, in my experience below 60hz is awful and has a distinctive shuddering in appearance and feedback.

Says who? The companies share holders? Or some troll baiters online?

One does not simply tank, when produced by Remedy.

Quick grab Alan Wake American Nightmare in the insane steam sale, its hella fun!

MGS4 was definitely the strangest MGS game I played and that's saying something haha. I felt it was just bizarre to the point of reminding me of some kind of hyper violent anime flick.

Snake being really old, kind of freaked me out and was irritating. Kojima must have known that people wanted to see the "classic" snake rendered on PS3. Was he trolling the fans deliberately? And after MGS2' Raiden ugh.

There's an excellent trailer for the upcoming console release on Eurogamer, YouTube and various other sites. I meant to link it but have nightmares using my mobile for anything other than basic posts. My bad. Apologies in advance!

Excellent news, I believe the game has been well received on pc and certainly piqued my interest.

Credit due to Codemasters for continuing to evolve and refine their Grid and Dirt series' I always missed the classic play style of CMR and CMR 2.0. Amazing for PS1 in its day.

I love Max Payne 3 and really feel that they carried the series torch in a supremely honorable and respectful way.

I really feel that the first and third are the series pinnacle, I never got on with Max Payne 2 particularly well and feel it has aged far worse than the first game.

Three I found absolutely riveting to play and was again blown away by the technology, it may have been the single most impressive game I played on the 360, then I had a ball on pc ja...

I think an element of luck was in play, in the generation before, with the Super Nintendo Ninty had a truly formidable machine for the era.

The Nintendo 64 was technically more powerful than the PlayStation but had many limitations of cartridge based media.

Nintendo had to produce some truly stellar games for the platform and invested heavily in Rare and their own first party titles to raise the bar. It was a particularly favourable time for Rare.
