It doesn't appear to have changed much, and if the first game is to be used as a baseline on how they treat their customers I will wait a long time til the game comes down in price to even give it consideration.
I'm joining the consensus here, its well designed for its purpose and it is so familiar through their consoles its not something that needs to be changed. Besides, its not like Sony are not experimenting with other control types, the PS Move is proof enough of that.
Its simple, you say Navigation Controller people instantly know or have an idea of its function. All that matters is that the technology works and has a real use for the platform.
Having played the first gears through to the end a long time ago I would say no, I didn't think much of the game at all.
All the FF games are linear, make no mistakes no matter when you get on the world map on the older games you are still restricted to a path until later in the game, and being a JRPG its pretty much a given it will continue to this path.
As for ease, im currently 12 chapters in and honestly i've hit a few walls boss wise, it isnt as simple as just hitting auto battle as its made out, in later chapters you do actually have to plan your paradigms and work off some sort of strategy. ...
That opinions from 1 place (which isnt even link sourced as proof) doesn't equal the entire Sony fanbase.
All in the name of fun and a competitive market, its not like other companies don't do it to eachother.
Seems whenever a popular game has been out and well established someone comes in and wants a piece of the action. Sad really, but at least its not going entirely in the favor of these people.
It's the influence its had forced onto it by the western gaming market, FF XIII has at least preserved some of its traditions, but it just doesnt feel like a J-RPG anymore.
Though there are some redeeming featurtes to the latest game, but like FF XII, I can't help but feel less involved again in the game and this is the main problem. I could immerse myself into ff1-9 and a little to 10, but 12 and 13? Not so much, and for me thats a game killer.
As for graphics, meh ...
Certainly not my top 5. FFVI should be #1 no questions then probably VII, VIII, IX and IV.
Excellent move, though I expected it sooner. Still good news, more in house devs is always a good thing. Lets hope MM keep delivering.
Something I will wait on, just one of those days today.
A long bad day and apparantly I'm now advised to not play the console I paid for to play games at my leisure.
I'm as understanding as anyone but come on, this is unacceptable.
We have a Wii and to be honest there are very few titles that are of interest, as a gamer I buy the platform where the games I want are, and that just isn't here.
There may be something for everyone, just not enough to keep me coming back to Nintendo, which in all honesty is a shame.
The thing is lag with current games doesn't fly, people whine about it on monumental scales.
Now put lag into Natal, something that requires precision and timing its a much bigger problem that needs addressing even if it is on a small scale.
Now this lag is noticable on a set of demos we have seen, games which are plainly simplistic, so how is it going to cope applied to any more intensive "hardcore" games?
The idea of Natal is interesting, how...
I really hope it doesn't inherit the problems of Fallout 3 with the horrible slowdown and random freezing.
Oh and let us continue the game after the main story without the need for an expansion... please? :P
There has always been a linear element to guide you before it all opens up, its a part of the way FF works, people seem to forget that not all games are supposed to be Sandbox types, and honestly after all these years why would they expect this to change.
Annoyingly though, they keep removing touches from the games series that I liked, such as manual piloting airships, next apparantly towns and cities, I would hate to think whats next to go.
@2.5
Its likely you have 28% trophies for 1 character I am guessing, you need 15% of the total battle trophies (all the characters battle trophies combined). This trend continues for Battle Trophy related trophies.
I don't have the 360 version to compare it to but, the game is fantastic beginning to end, it had its minor faults (lip synching is actually only one that comes to mind atm) but still I have had no problems with it or burning the hours away on it.
@1.1 That is strange, cannot say I have had this problem in the 60 plus hours I have already spent on the game.
They have been hinting for a long time of premium services to come on top of the current offering, we will just have to wait and see.
Though honestly, nothing comes to mind of what I would be willing to pay for seeing as I already play games free online anyway.
