Maybe, too many unknowns at the moment. Time will tell.

I look at the video again and what I see is the Crisis Core style of battle, which frankly I would be okay with. Sure I would prefer turn based as it used to be but we knew the remake would mean compromise.

What you describe is quite literally my suggestion (see last sentence) in my initial comment lol.

I'm not opposed to an active battle which is why I made those suggestions. I'm just saying it's tricky with an established game system.

Yes you use materia in Crisis Core, I never said you didn't. Controlling one character, it was fine. Not great.

But doing that with multiple characters on the field? I just don't see it working as well.

The core issue they have is that FF VII was built on a materia system which worked well on a turn based system.

When you go to an active battle system (such as Crisis Core), materia setups don't work as well.

What they may consider is possibly adopting the Star Ocean / Tales game style of battle. It has active components but opportunities to set strategies and control actions of individual characters.

While I do have the capability to comply I do not agree with the practice of always online.

Sim City should have been a wake up call. Clearly it wasn't so I will continue to say no by the only way they understand, with my wallet.

A little surprised its cross gen given that FFXV in the end isn't.

Still, I'm happy that I'll have another JRPG to look forward to.

The only way a year could be a let down for gaming is having no games to play. That simply isn't the case.

Just because you didn't think much of the games you played it doesn't necessarily reflect the consensus.

As far as the game goes, it does have the advantage of familiarality, going around and being able to see hey I remember this place, but thats changed. Was good.

The debt system was forced out of necessity for plot but the game throws Gald at you so often its not an obstacle. Post game even less so.

As for any plot twists, there were none really. They give you just a little too much information during the game so you have a good idea whats going to happen befo...

Ads are fine, if they are done responsibly and controlled properly, the majority are not.

For pages that do it right, I'm fine with ads. But those who don't, are instantly added to the hosts file and have been for years.

To blame adblock for all the problems is shortsighted and akin to medias generalisation to violence being caused by video games and the "type" of people that play them. Any links made are from a narrow view on the subject, d...

The writer thinks Gunblades are bad? Play Tales of Symphonia, one of the characters uses cards as a primary weapon..

It costs half as much as plus because the user still has to get past the XBL subscription cost to play online, or did you conveniently forget that? Which as you put it would also be considered "forced".

Play it down all you want but the "money grab" is factual, they did their own thing because they get a bigger cut of the takings and its only a matter of time before other publishers follow suit.

The big problem I have with EA Access is that it seems like another way to get people to swallow the digital content, anti used game, phone home periodicaly pill again.

People were in uproar when Microsoft tried this, yet changed it to a subscribed service and people are willing to take it?

Nobody would believe EA wanted to kill the online pass, they just knew what the original Xbox One vision was and wanted good publicity before the bomb dropped.

While I have enjoyed the battle systems of old with turn based action, I have also seen how an active battle system can work very well.

To be quite honest, the fact that I now have to pay attention to what I'm doing actually provides that little extra immersion which is what I want in an RPG.

FFs core issue isn't the battle system, its the attempts to westernise the games, they can't pull it off and its killing the games.

Whats with this notion of winning for any of the platforms? The only "winner" should be the gamers.

If you found something you particularly want on a platform, that's great for you, you win.

I didn't see very much of interest from the presentations to be honest.

I think this was the last Burnout game I really enjoyed throughout, the games just couldn't match up after this for me.

Sure Revenge was okay and I spent a lot of time in Paradise City, it just isn't the same though..

Since the game was announced I've been concerned about my GPU. Fortunately it seems that I will be able to run the game with my GTX 480.

I've never been overly bothered about running everything in ultra settings, as long as I can run it on settings that are stable I'm usually satisfied.

I hope its more than talk from their Xbox Division, they have not done a very good job so far convincing me that the Xbox One deserves my attention.

Wow me Microsoft, show me what you have at E3 and maybe I'll change my mind.

Could it be, the final push to convince me to buy a Vita? Always welcome another Tales game to play.

Its been in development so long the costs must be ridiculous.

The issue I have is that as a result we've been subjected to a lot of mediocre at best games brandishing the FF name. As a result I have little faith it will deliver on the expectations it began with.
