Free to play model or any MMO for that matter just doesn't work well on XBL. MS insists that the player population be separated. IE, Xbox players cannot play with PC's or PS2/PS3/PS4 players. So, who is going to pay for that extra servers that the MMO developers have to set up for Xbox users only? The developers obviously. I have been having a blast on PS2 since Beta. Nothing beats Planetside in term of gigantic epic battles. Every fight nowadays is like a cutscene in other games. I can't go back to those small FPS anymore.
Sure, it got bugs and balancing nuances here and there. However, the bugs are always being ironed out and the balancing changes is always part of the fun. Enjoy OP stuff while you can cause they patch and balance them really quick. Haha.
The only thing I can think of for Kinect use in MMOs is for the emotion recognition. Let's say in FFXIV, you can laugh in real life and then kinect detects that and your character laughs in game. Or you fall asleep playing and kinect showing your player character dozing off. Other than that, Kinect as a control input is a burden to the game. A novelty at best.
I highly suspect that the reddit AMA from the OS dev is officially sanctioned in some way. If the dev truly want to be anonymous and elusive , he should be more like CBoaT who proven to have near 100% accuracy* while keeping his/her affiliation a mystery. Otherwise, this is just another MS obvious and cheap attempt at astroturfing on reddit. Futile and ill conceived effort. The average Japanese don't have floor space for Kinect to work optimally. Every Japanese hardware maker have to account for compact designs that will fit in the average Japanese home. Sony PS4 is certainly designed with that in mind. Making Kinect mandatory makes absolutely no sense in Japan.
People are angry because the re-release is completely half - assed with crappy MIDI music and built in online DRM for a SP game. No, not steam online DRM, but Square Enix proprietary cloud save BS. You have to log into steam, then log into Square Enix's own system. Twice. That is why people are angry.

I am very excited for Titan Fall. It's been forever since I play a good Mech + Infantry combat game. However XBO and EA Origin are kind of a boner kill.
Wow, people act like 1% of MS is nothing. 1% of MS is 2 Billion dollars. If you spend a dollar every second, it would take you what? 60 something years to get 2 Billion.
