Mainly because screen tearing only happens if you are of course, out of sync with the monitor. I usually sync to 60 Hz because I can get rock solid 60 FPS on almost all games. Screen tearing only happens when I actually go faster than 60 FPS and the 60 Hz monitor can't keep up. If you want to go faster than 60 FPS, get a 120 Hz monitor.

Eh, I think it is diminishing returns past 1080P. I have a ridiculously beastly new $2000 computer and a really high resolution 120Hz Monitor past 1080P, so I know. Can you tell the difference side by side? Yes, absolutely. Not worth the frame rates sacrifice IMO. 1080P at 60FPS or more good enough. If you don't have a monitor with 60Hz or higher, don't bother going beyond 60FPS.
In the end, I'm glad that the tech industry is always advancing.

I don't usually like motion gaming beyond light guns, but I think multiplatform games will be made for PS4 Camera and Kinect. The key here is PS Eye being the common denominator. If the games works for PS Eye, it will probably work for Kinect and vice versa. If Multiplatform Devs are going to make a camera game, no doubt they would try to port it to PS4 as well. MS is kind of inadvertently doing all the work getting dev support for Sony as well by making Kinect mandatory. Only MS exclusiv...
