Is MS showing up this time or are they gonna skip out like at gamescon?
Journalists are just gamers like us, they're not professional and some of them can't write worth a damn. Until more professionalism is brought to gaming reviews, gaming will never be on the same level as movies. Especially with all those fanboy "journalists" like moron that leads kotaku.
And I'm glad they did. Though MS has largely disappointed these last two years, without their competition, SONY would never have improved PSN as much as they have, there would be no tropies, no in-game XMB, the price would still be very high and I'm pretty sure SONY wouldn't have pushed to have as many exclusives as they have.
Competition is a WIN for us gamers.
Nintendo let the success get to their heads just like SONY did when the PS3 launch. Seriously, I mean, so many blunders as of late. After the massive success of the Wii and DS I would have expected Nintendo to be much better poised for next gen. Guess they weren't. That's the problem with going casual. When you loose the core audiance (even though there are far less of us than casuals) you have a big problem.
I define casuals as people who only take a passive interest in gaming. They only play party games and/or easy to understand games (like COD and Madden).
Most of them have started playing this gen with either the Wii or 360 and most of them are quick to jump ship. They know nothing about gaming history, they have no idea about any gaming events, and if you tried talking to them about games they'd probably only know about Halo, COD, Madden and mario. Yea, given the way MS has been going I'm starting to think the "720" won't be aimed at the core.
The only reason I started out as a console gamer was due to convenience and ease of use. Nowadays I've begun dabbling into the PC world and I've build my first rig. PC gaming is not doubt vastly superior.
I always install my games, and so far it's been working. Funny story actually, my 360 RROD'd about 2 years ago. I was pissed off but it just sat around for about 3 weeks and when I was about to send it off to MS, I tried turning it on and it WORKED!! I was so happy and now 2 years later it's still going strong. I hope it lasts a few more years.
I think the official GOTY should be whatever the AIAS chooses.
So far the GOTY from the AIAS have been:
2006: Gears of War (360/PC)
2007: COD4 (360/PC/PS3)
2008: LBP (PS3)
2009: UC2 (PS3)
2010: ME2 (360/PC/PS3)
In my opinion, that AIAS award means a lot more than any other award from any independent website and especially better than the crapfest that is the VGAs.
The only 360 exclusive that sells a lot is Halo, same applies to PS3 with GT5. MGS4, UC2, and other PS3 exclusives (I believe GOW3) have all sold at least, or over 5 million compies which would put them at less than 1 million units behind Gears. Other than those, most 360 and PS3 exclusives sell roughly the same and the fact that a large number PS3 exclusives reach 2 million+ is quite an achievement (especially when there's so many).

So Logic, it's credible when the 360 is leading but not when the PS3 is? It goes both ways man, it either is or it's not. Personally, I think it's a good estimation though they are notorious for undertracking PS3 sales.
I haven't used mine in roughly a year, but I've kept it so I can finish off the Gears trilogy, play Halo and get Forza 4. Then, I'll keep it another year so I can play Halo 4. At this point, there's no point in selling the 360, you won't get much for it, and I don't wan to part with my collect (esp. Lost Odyssey, imo best JRPG this gen!)
Why drop the price when they're selling great? The only way MS would do a price cut is if the PS3 suddenly surged in sales, which I don't think is gonna happen in NA.
Achievements are awesome and I was so happy when SONY decided to add trophies. I'm not a hunter per se, but I do like getting them (though I don't actively try to). They're pretty cool and a great example of why competition benefits us all.
But they were able to drop the price 80 bucks, that means they had a bigger margin to add more and still be profitable. IMO, they should have gone for it and avoided the hassle of getting the same criticism the PSP got for 7 years.
Quality wise no doubt about it, Gears isn't known for it's story (all you need to know is it's a bunch of marines on steroid killing aliens that came from within the planet).
Sales wise, I'm predicting that Gears will outsell UC3 by roughly 1-1.5 million units based on the previous games in both series. Still, I don't understand how a game selling better makes it in any way more enjoyable. it's still the same game regardless of whether it sells 1 mill...
Lol, sure buddy, you play that one game, while we play those 4 quality games you listed. I don't get what you're trying to say. Sales wise? Cause sales wise I'm pretty sure UC3 is gonna hit 5 million, KZ3 should reach roughly 3 million, I have no idea about SOCOM 4 and R3 should reach 2 million.
Gears will reach roughly 6-6.5 million based on the previous games so I really don't get what you're saying. It's just funny how blind fanboys like you can be...
Nintendo should have implemented this into the design itself. Don't understand what the heck they were thinking especially after all the PSP complaints.

Can anyone that has bought tell me if it works? How much room would need with this zoom cause if it fixes the room issue I might be able to buy a Kinect (a friend of mine is selling it with like 3 games for 100 bucks) so I'd like to know if it helps.
