I don't know...in terms of sheer narrative, and innovation I'm liking LA Noire more...but that's just my opinion.
I'm enjoying it tremendously. GOTY contender in my eye's for sure.
As to whether you'll like it or not..well I don't know.
Here's the best way to put L.A Noire,
Imagine Heavy Rain in an open world setting where you can control your characters.
If that sounds appealing then you'll LOVE L.A noire. If that concept sounds horrible to you then I can't garunteed you'll like it. Worst case sceaniro...
That better not be the controller....ugh.
Personally I loved seeing Walter Bishop (from fringe) in L.A Noire. That made my day!
Agreed. The narrative is one of the best I've played this gen.
right now i'd say between 91-93.
There IS an option to replay cases...i hope you know.
The first 4 are basic tutorial cases. Get to case 7 and after, then talk.
Screw ign. The fact that Hilary gave gta IV a 10/10 speaks miles as to the type of a reviewer he is...MILES.
Are you serious? Who cares about the OPINION of one reviewer? Seriously. Reviews are nothing more than long opinions, with a score attatched. No different than going to a forum and how there are a handful of people that like X game, while others can't stand it.
Jeez. It has a 92 on metacritic which makes it the 2nd highest rated game this year. It's only 3 points behind RDR (which had a a 95), and still has time to climb.
God you people are awful. Th...
Can't tell which intro I liked more, this or RDR's....
also the main menu is really nice
If you just go through the story without doing anything extra, then roughly about 30 hours. Doing all the extra things will take close to 40-45+ hours.
In total there's 23 Main Story missions. Others are smaller which take close to an hour, while bigger ones like a serial murder case can take up to 2-3 hours.
On top of that there's 40 optional side cases.
To be fair Rockstar helped out...ALOT. According to a recent 1up interview with the creator of L.A Noire, they said they basically came up with the overall concept, and narrative while Rockstar really worked there magic and helped with the rest. They gave alot of input on what should be in the game, what shouldn't be in the game. They also mentioned design for open world type games, and how rockstar was really able to help them out with that.
So yeah, to be fair L.A Noire...
Yes. GOTY or bust...seriously. Many are expecting L.A Noire will be 2011 Red Dead Redemption. More than likely that's true. The few reviews we've gotten are all perfect (or near perfect) and can't stop glowing about the game.
Guys on gamefaq forum a poster has gotten the uk oxm mag early and have posted there review for la. noire.
Check it out http://www.gamefaqs.com/boa...
So is this for 2011, or for 2012? I would hope for a 2011 date, but 2012 seems more realistic :(
Regardless though, this will most likely be my goty whenever it comes out. Warhawk was such a fun, and incredible game. As long as they bring all the excellent elements from the first then I have no doubt this will be just as excellent...plus the graphics look GREAT!
Xbox fans...this is why Sony rules...jus' sayin....;)
I'm scared.
I want to be hyped, and truth be told I am hyped.
But at the same time I'm afraid. I'm afraid it'll under deliver. I really want this to be RDR of 2010. I hope I'm right.
Basically. For the most part it's based on 2 factors.
1. This economy has not been kind on the videogame industry, and thus have made many studios and publishers to shut down. Creating a AAA title requires millions of dollars, and most studios NEED a solid publisher to back them up. Most cases, publishers want to go with the sequel since you know you already have an ESTABLISHED fan base, so you don't fear losing profit.
2. New ips=risk. More times th...
Depends. I'd love to see a balance.
I love Bulletstorm, but on the other hand I also LOVE L.A Noire and it's realistic take on 40's crimefighting.
I say there should be a balance.
Let there be realistic games like Heavy Rain, L.A Noire, Operation Flashpoint, Mafia 2, etc...
While let's still have our fare shares of games like Duke Nukem, and Bulletstorm.
Because that's what gaming is al...
