Um... Homefront?
I think Sony will be like Apple with their iPhone and iPod.
The PSP2 will have nearly identical internals (aside from radio antennas, of course) to the PSPhone, but the PSP2 will not have cellphone capabilities or require a data plan.
Android phones already have a significantly larger market share worldwide than iPhone. 25.5% to 16.7%. Symbian is still the leader, though, with 36.6%.
DICE are going to show off the tech behind the game at GDC in February. They put some info up on the GDC website. There's going to be a new lighting engine that's a mix of the lighting in the Battlefield games and Mirror's Edge. Also even more destructible environments.
EA did stuff like this in more than a couple of their games. I remember in Mirror's Edge, pirated copies would have Faith slow down to a walk at the beginning of the third level or so. So it was impossible to make any jumps--you would just fall to your death.
...was this video supposed to be funny?
Standards change over time. Many racing games have come out since GT4.
Say what you will, but Unreal Engine 3 looks solid, is well optimized, and it's easy to use for modders.
Minesweeper.
Kinda OT, but the heck. Why does your site have text as images.
A Sony exec said that a PSP with wi-fi is good, but a PSP that is always connected is better. That pretty much confirms a PlayStation Phone.
The trademarks, patents, and pictures of the prototype are pretty convincing as well.
PlayStation Android phone.
The thing about Halo Reach is that the skill ceiling seems kinda low. I admit that I haven't invested hundreds of hours into the game and know everything about it, but in the several hours that I have played it, it was pretty easy keeping my crosshair over the heads of my enemies and killing them with the DMR because of the aim assist.
...and in both cases dedicated servers are not available.
Your point is?
That's like saying "My single-core PC is fast enough. What's the point of having two cores?" The iPhone 4's chip does most things in an acceptable amount of time, but you can always be faster. For example, when scrolling quickly, you still get checkerboards; a faster system would resolve that issue.
There is nothing wrong with progressing upwards in technology. And I'm sure they will take battery life into consideration when designing these chips. <...
Windows Phone 7 looks very slick from a UI perspective, but it's not quite as full featured as Android or iOS yet. Android is still my OS of choice and it'll keep getting better with the Gingerbread update that will be announced in the coming days and Honeycomb which will have a UI overhaul. Some crazy Android phones will be coming out early next year with next-gen processors, possibly dual-core.
Story was decent, but the game could've had better pacing.
These guys need to listen to Valve's commentaries. They found out that establishing pacing with high and low points rather than having non-stop action gave their testers a much more enjoyable experience. And this was way back with Half-Life 2.
Black Ops did have some downtime areas, but they were really brief and the areas weren't very open.
I never kicked the barrels.
I just ran into the trenches and the mission ended.
CoD and CoD:UO still have my favorite campaigns, but Black Ops is up there. Definitely much better than Modern Warfare 2's.
This is just a webcam-like game. What makes Kinect special is that it has multiple cameras to measure depth.
