The 9800 GTX was a very small improvement over the 8800 GTX as it used basically the same architecture, only with some small enhancements.
One of the most popular cards right now are the 8800 GT and 9600 GT, which are extremely fast when compared to consoles and can be purchased for $150, which, if you have a job, is not expensive at all.

Yeah, the PC version of The Orange Box is amazing. I've put over 200 hours into Team Fortress 2 and have replayed Episode Two 4 times.
But the 360 version of TOB is really not that good.
